What does resolution and lux mean?

personal safety
Resolution measures the camera's ability to reproduce an image. The higher the resolution number, the better the picture quality. Most TVs only have a resolution of 350 lines. A Sony Trinitron is up to about 400 lines. Lux is the measure of light the camera needs to reproduce an image. The lower the number, the less light the camera needs. A black & white camera will grasp an image longer than a color camera when the sun starts to go down for example.

How many LUX does The Litebook® provide?

Support Questions & Answers | The Litebook Company
A growing body of research demonstrates that the effectiveness of light therapy is less dependent on the intensity (LUX) of the light source than it is on the wavelength of the light. Numerous research reports on the same peak wavelengths of light emitted by The Litebook® and The Litebook® Elite™ conclude that it is these wavelengths of light that are the ‘action spectrum’ for light therapy. What does "resolution" mean?

FAQ
The resolution determines the amount of detail from the original picture that is captured and stored in a digital copy of your images. Higher resolutions capture more detail. The type and quality of the original picture and the intended use of the digital image determine the appropriate resolution. We will work with you to determine the proper resolution that we will use to digitize your pictures. See similar questions...

What does 'resolution' mean?

Photo cards - FAQ & Answers on creating personal cards
Resolution is the 'size' of your photo. The higher the resolution, the bigger the file size. Many digital cameras allow you to adjust the resolution of your images. For printing, the higher the resolution (or bigger the file), the better quality your image will be. See similar questions...

What does "lines of resolution" mean?

DVD FAQ
Everyone gets confused by the term "lines of horizontal resolution," also known as LoHR or TVL. It's a carryover from analog video, it's poorly understood, it's inconsistently measured and reported by manufacturers, but we're stuck with it until all video is digital and we can just report resolution in pixels. Technically, lines of horizontal resolution refers to visually resolvable vertical lines per picture height. See similar questions...

What does spectral resolution mean?

Land Cover Analysis - General FAQs
Spectral resolution is defined as the number and width (wavelength) of bands (meaningful portions) of electromagnetic energy detectable by a given sensor. For analog photography, it is defined as the number of emulsion layers in the photographic film (i.e., one for black/white photographs and three for color). Spectral resolution is limited to the visible and low end of the near infrared portion of the EMS for photographic film, which is limited by photochemical processes. See similar questions...

What does temporal resolution mean?

Land Cover Analysis - General FAQs
Temporal resolution refers to how often the same geographic area is revisited by a sensor. Temporal resolution is governed by the orbital characteristics of the satellite vehicle. A sun-synchronous orbit means that the satellite travels on multiple pole to pole orbits coordinated with the circle of illumination (hemisphere of the sun's incident light), such that the satellite collects at approximately the same time of day at every point on the earth for every orbit. What does "software-enhanced" resolution mean?

KODAK:FAQ:KODAK PhotoDoc Color Scanner
The scanner actually scans the image at 300 dpi and then the scanner's device driver provides the option of mathematically decreasing or increasing the number of dots per inch that are stored for that image. You also see enhanced resolution stated as "interpolated" resolution. See similar questions...

What does the "Display Resolution Indicator" mean?

CubicNavigator - Tutorial
The Display Resolution Indicator, turned on or off in the Window Preferences, shows at the bottom of the viewer window the resolution of the currently loaded panorama. The text at the left indicates the type of VR it is - "cubic, equirect, cylinder" - followed by the dimensions. For example, "cubic: 6 x 768 x 768" indicates there are six cube faces, each having a cube face size of 768 pixels. See similar questions...

What does the resolution on the specification sheet mean?

Programmable electronic load FAQ: programmable electronic lo...
Resolution is the minimum numerical increment or decrement of the voltage, current, resistance and power setting that can be programmed into the load or displayed by the load. If the setting is incremented or decremented by a numerical value below the resolution specifications, the eLOAD may not respond to the entry. AMREL specifications guarantee 14 bit resolution for all ranges and modes. See similar questions...
