The LOWA, Louisiana Outdoor Writers' Association, is a non-profit organization comprised of outdoor communicators including newspaper and magazine writers, columnists, editors, photographers, cartoonists, radio and television broadcast journalists, book authors, lecturers, and public relations specialists. The IEWA was founded in early 1999 for the purpose of gathering together online journalists who write about the broad spectrum of entertainment topics and publish their work on the web. Back to TopLighten Up Louisiana (LUL) is a five‑month competition that encourages Louisianians to develop healthy activity and eating habits. Louisianians are encouraged to form teams and and sign up as indivduals to engage in friendly competition.

Interim" spousal support. This is based on your needs, the ability of your spouse to pay, and the standard of living enjoyed during the marriage. Interim support ends 180 days after the divorce. Permanent spousal support. You can only get this if you were free from fault before filing for divorce. A judge will look at you and your spouse's needs, income, means, health and earning capacity; how long your marriage lasted; and other things. These issues are not simple.

In the Louisiana court structure there are 5 courts of appeal, 42 district courts, 5 family or juvenile courts, 50 city courts and 3 parish courts. Along with most other states, Louisiana has established the intermediate courts of appeal between the district courts and the supreme court. These courts guarantee the right to have almost any trial court decision reviewed by a higher court.

All of the huts that are open in the summer have metal fire pits with grates, except for Francie's Cabin. Colorado summers can be very dry and the US Forest Service will issue a fire ban when conditions become dangerous. It is your responsibility to find out in advance if there is a ban in effect. Forest Service Ranger District numbers are provided on the summer information sheet sent out with all summer reservations. 10th Mountain will occasionally close the fire pits at the huts.
