The GRE institution code is 3094 and the GRE department code is 0402. For the TOEFL, you should use the school code which is 3094 and the department code 78. Note that answers to these questions and many like them may be found at our graduate school website: http://gradschool.brown.edu/.

The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences does not use department codes, as all application materials should be sent to the admission office only.

For reporting TOEFL score results use any other department code except 00 - 00 which will send your score to the undergraduate office and not to the graduate school.

The institution code is 3917 and there is no department code needed for the GRE (if you must enter a department code you may use any number, all scores are received by the graduate admissions office electronically).

General Chemistry. This code is sufficient to reach our department. You do not need to break it down into divisions of chemistry.

Initially, we advise an international applicant to attach photocopies of his/her score reports with the application, but official reports issued by ETS will be required before full processing of that application will take place. ETS will send your scores electronically to the UW Graduate School as long as you use the institution code, 4854. Both 2016 and 2001 codes will be routed to us in the Psychology Department. We can look them up once you have submitted your application to the Graduate School, provided that you use the institution code as shown above.

You should use 0677, the code for the National University of Singapore. Please indicate that you have designated the NUS to receive your score on your application form or by email to smacs@comp.nus.edu.sg. When should I apply? The deadline for fall admission is May 15, but we start admitting students early in February. Applications that are received after we have started the admission process have a reduced chance of admission because there will be fewer open positions remaining. For fall applicants, we recommend that the application be mailed no later than mid-January in order to have the best chance of admission. The answer to both questions is yes.

The GRE and TOEFL scores should be sent directly from ETS to Cornell University, university code 2098. Xeroxed copies of student scores do not constitute official scores. You should plan to take the tests allowing enough time for the official scores to arrive before the Field deadline; generally this process takes 3-4 weeks; however, it is recommended that the tests be taken no later than October due to the large volume of testing that occurs after that time.

The GRE school code for Carnegie Mellon is 2074 and the Department of Mechanical Engineering department code is 1502. The TOEFL code is 68. It is acceptable for your GRE and TOEFL score reports to arrive after the application deadline as long as it is during the committee review process. Having your reports arrive after the deadline will not affect your chances of being admitted or of receiving financial aid unless it is after the final decisions have all been made.

For foreign applications, we require a TOEFL score of 600. While your GRE score is important, we have no specific cut-off for GRE scores, and consider the GRE score to be just one part of your overall application. All applicants must submit a GRE score to be considered for fellowships or graduate teaching assistantships.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison institution code is 1846. The La Follette School of Public Affairs department code is 2204.

International students have to score a minimum 213 (computer-based); 550 (paper-based) or minimum IBT (internet-based test) - Speaking (23), Listening (19), Reading (19) and Writing (15). The scores can't be older than two years.
