DigiVault, security is of utmost importance. Therefore, if you misplace your 'encryption key' we will be unable to restore any of your data stored on our servers.

If you loose your key, please email or call us to arrange for a way for us to get your order back to you. We will charge you a $25 lost key fee. If you find the key, please let us know and we will refund $15 back to you upon receiving the found key.

Before any information is uploaded into your CopySafe, it is automatically compressed and encrypted. You will have a password, also called an encryption key, for accessing your data. It is the only way to decrypt your files after retrieval. It is very important to notate this password/key and keep it in a safe place for future reference.

If you loose it there is no possibility of restoring it and no other way to unlock your computer. So make sure you make a backup of the generated key. This special protective measure it taken for your own benefit by making it impossible for unauthorized users to unlock your computer.

If you need to change your password or encryption key, select either the Change Password or Change Encryption Key buttons from the application that is also supplied by Your-Data. Changing your encryption key involves intensive processing on our servers and may take several minutes. It should therefore not be done unless your encryption key was compromised.

We cannot help you if you lose your Personalized Encryption Key. Your encryption and decryption key is designed for your security. If you do not have access to the original software and do not have the printed page that you were prompted to print during the installation, then you willl not be able to access your backup! With 128-bit AES Encryption there is no "reset" key.

This depends on the server software and browsers used. Modern browsers and servers (from 2000 onwards) encipher the data with 128-bit, thus guaranteeing a very high degree of protection. When you are purchasing a SSL certificate, make sure it is suitable for this 128-bit encryption. This way, you provide visitors to your website with optimum protection.

Encryption garbles your data by using irreversible mathematical functions. It is simply the encoding of data so that it cannot be read by anyone who does not know the password that decodes it.

If you lose your access card or key while attending a conference, report such loss to the Office of Conferences. Another access card/key will be provided to the participant. Lost card fee is $25 and lost keys are $50. If a conference participants happens to find the lost access card/key after they have left the campus, please call our office for instructions as to the return of such property.

If you loose the keys you must advise us as soon as possible. To replace each set of keys we levy a charge of EUR 30.00. If appropriate, this will be deducted from your security deposit. We normally have further sets of keys available to you. Please note that we are unable to duplicate safe keys where key operated safes are in the accommodation (however, we can open the safe for you!).
