Can I install brick over my existing concrete or asphalt driveway, patio or walk?

Master Masonry: Frequently Ask Questions
Paving can be installed over existing concrete or asphalt as long as it is in reasonably good shape. To ensure an adequate foundation for the brick, the existing concrete slab or asphalt should be inspected and repaired as necessary. Any cracks, chips, holes, dips or spalls should be repaired in order to achieve a flat surface. The brick can be installed either with or without mortar. If no mortar is used, a half-inch setting bed of coarse sand should be laid and compacted.

Can I lay my new paving stones over my existing concrete driveway and patio?

Architectural Block, Architectural Masonry Products, Masonry...
Yes, provided you have ample room to allow for the additional 3 inches that will be above the concrete. If this is going into a doorway, you may have a problem with clearance. Also, the concrete should be free of any major cracks. Remember, any movement in the concrete slabs that you are going over will show themselves in the surface of the paving stones. For asphalt and concrete bases, the base material should be installed according to standard construction procedure and then the brick can be constructed on top. (See previous question.) For a compacted gravel base, the earth below should be well compacted. All brick pavements should have the earth graded to a minimum slope of quarter-inch per foot for drainage. Why use StreetPrint? as an alternative to concrete or brick pavers?

ISLAND PAVING :: Streetprint :: Residential: FAQS :..
StreetPrint? can be installed very quickly with relatively little disruption, so it is usually much less costly and disruptive than concrete alternatives. StreetPrint? uses asphalt as its base. Asphalt is a flexible surface that is more likely to accept shifting due to weather extremes and can resist cracking commonly associated with other paving systems. Vehicle braking/accelerating and steering will not shift or break StreetPrint?, as often happens with brick pavers. See similar questions...
