Although none of the inhabitants came from the town of Bridgwater, England, it is thought that the town was named after its English counterpart. Until roughly the beginning of the 19th century present-day "Bridgewater" spelled its name precisely as does its English counterpart - "BRIDGWATER".

imagine Bridgewater began with the Town’s desire to conduct a strategic planning process and has grown to include aspects of community development and capacity building. Bridgewater is a healthy, vibrant community, which is enjoying rapid growth and expansion. This period of change has made imagine Bridgewater all the more important to our community, because we have an opportunity to truly create the future that we want for ourselves.

The Bridgewater Club is a 750-acre upscale residential golf course community, centrally located between Carmel and Westfield, Indiana, between 146th and 161st Street, and Gray and Carey Road, just one mile east of State Road 31 (Meridian). The Bridgewater Club includes the Dye Course, a private championship 18- hole golf course designed by Pete Dye and The Preserve Academy, which constitutes nearly 240 of the 750 acres.

The Triangle extends from Abington to Freetown to Rehoboth and includes the Hockamock Swamp area in Bridgewater. It is believed to be an area of intense, paranormal activity, including Bigfoot sightings. The Bridgewater Public Library Reference Department maintains a file of information on this phenomenon.

The clubhouse features elegant men's and women's locker room facilities, a cozy lounge and bar room, a warm and rich dining room that will boast of ambience, banquet facilities for larger group or outing needs, substantial fitness area, a business/dining room to accommodate private groups, shoe and bag service, and much more. The Dye Course, designed by world-renowned golf course architect, Pete Dye, was nominated for best new private golf course for 2004.

Bridgewater is approximately 27 miles south of Boston (and 6 miles southeast of Brockton, and 29 miles northeast of Providence, RI.).

All town offices are located in Central Square (near the town common). They are divided between the Academy Building, Town Hall, and the Memorial Building.

The Old Bridgewater Historical Society, located at 162 Howard Street in West Bridgewater, maintains a collection of materials relevant to the history of Bridgewater, East Bridgewater and West Bridgewater. They are open limited hours and the phone number is 508-559-1510.

of February 2004, there were 13,641 registered voters; 3,507 are Democrats, Republicans number 1,969, Unenrolled are 8,090 and those listed as Other Affiliations number 75.

The Bridgewater Club is an upscale residential community. The Development Plan includes numerous different sections of carefully planned residential development. There are over 500 single-family lots available for sale, most of which have golf course, woods and or lake views. There is also a variety of "empty nester" and condominiums and attached upscale family residential homes.

The Tory House (circa 1698), which faces the town common, has been used as a public house for travelers as well as a station on the Underground Railroad. The famous slaves, William and Ellen Crafts, were sheltered here on their way north.

In April 1998, I started looking for European women's organisations who might be interested in a subscription to Women'space Magazine. I couldn't find any comprehensive list of organisations, and that frustrated me, so I decided to compile one myself. The idea of a European list grew and grew, until I found myself gathering information from all over the world. Basically, it's a personal project that grew immensely large and ambitious. :-)

Bridgewater State College requires all full-time undergraduate students to have notebook computers. This year, the requirement applies to all freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors including all transfer students who are entering BSC. The college has worked closely with Dell to customize the notebook's configuration for use at BSC and reduce the guesswork on what type of notebook students should purchase.

The Bridgewater Club is a private club. The club has been established as an upscale private golf club with the goal of having 325 members. Yes! We encourage you to do so. We think your experience at The Bridgewater Club will be fantastic and we want you to share the Club with your friends and business associates.

There are two key factors that make imagine Bridgewater different than other projects that have taken place in Bridgewater. First, there are no specific topics that we are asking community members to talk about, this means that ANY topic that is important to you, as a member of Bridgewater’s community, can be discussed.
