UHCCC does not hold places. Student parents enrolled in the spring semester do not have to take summer school classes in order to maintain their child's enrollment at UHCCC. However, even if you are not enrolled in summer classes, your child must stay enrolled at UHCCC to have priority registration for the next semester.

It truly depends on your individual needs. There are many organizations that offer internship opportunities throughout the year, and others that may only offer summer opportunities. Many students enjoy focusing on their internship during the summer, while others feel it is best for them to pursue the opportunity during the Fall or Spring semesters.

There is no official final exam schedule for Summer Semester. Refer to the course syllabus or ask your instructor for exam information.

Deaf and hard of hearing high school graduates who are at least 18 years of age may apply. Priority consideration is given to those with previous professional, community, and/or college performing experience. Only a limited number of applicants are accepted into the program.

All students with disabilities must be considered for Extended School Year (ESY) services on an annual basis. The decision regarding whether or not a student will receive ESY services is documented. ESY is a continuation of special education and related services for students with disabilities beyond the traditional 10-month school year. For most schools, this would include the months of July and August.

Duke TIP hosts approximately 36 ceremonies across the 16-state region within a one-month timeframe. We work around the schedules of our hosting universities and often the only time they can accommodate the ceremony is on a weekday. We cannot hold the ceremonies in the summer because they would conflict with our summer programs that many of the same students attend.
