Because Presto and the Printing Mailbox is a receive-only email service, users do not have the cost and hassles of a computer and Internet account, and do not need to learn to send email or use a keyboard. Most recipients respond to Presto email the way they're most comfortable—with a phone call. Presto makes this easy to do by printing the sender's telephone number on each email we deliver.

Verify that the blue Ready light on the front right corner of the Printing Mailbox is lit. If not, be sure that the device is plugged into the power outlet. Verify that the print cartridge is properly installed, is not empty, and that the plastic tape (with the pink tab) has been removed. Verify that the email address from which messages are being sent is included in the Presto Friends list on the Account Management website at account.presto.com.

Remember your Printing Mailbox must be plugged in and connected to a phone line at all times to receive messages. No, a separate, dedicated phone line is not required. Setup is quick and easy! Just plug the Printing Mailbox into a power outlet and an existing ordinary phone jack. Insert paper and an ink cartridge. Within minutes, your loved ones are ready to receive their first email!

First, make sure that you are on the Printing Mailbox user's Presto Friends list. Then, you can send email just like you normally do. Simply address your email to the Printing Mailbox user's Presto email address. The Presto Service is compatible with most email clients and web services, including Microsoft Outlook, Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Hotmail, EarthLink, Mail, Eudora, AOL, Apple Mail, and others. If your cell phone service offers email from your cell phone, we support that too.

Don't worry: messages that didn't print because the Printing Mailbox was out of paper aren't lost. Once you've added more paper, the Printing Mailbox will resume printing messages.

You can keep as many messages and contacts as you want in your mailbox until your account size reaches it's storage limit, which is generally up to 10MB. You can monitor the amount of storage you've used by going to the 'Folders and Address Books' page in NetDexia WebMail as this information is provided in the bottom corner. As an important note, both email and contacts count towards your storage capacity.

Plain 8 1/2 x 11-inch paper is all that's required. The paper tray holds up to 50 sheets—and loading paper takes just seconds. A sample supply of paper is included with the Printing Mailbox. No expensive photo paper is required. The Printing Mailbox comes with an HP 95 Tri-Color Print Cartridge. You can use either an HP 95 or an HP 97 Tri-Color Print Cartridge. These standard print cartridges are available through Presto or at most electronics and office-supply stores.

Step 2—Tap a stack of 8.5 x 11-inch paper (up to 50 pages) on a flat surface to align the edges. Step 3—Insert the stack of paper into the tray and slide it forward until it stops as indicated below. Step 4—Close the top cover. Note: If the paper light continues to blink, check that the top cover is closed properly.
