MusicRip: Mobilize Your Music
Hardware devices (such as Apple's iPod and Dell's DJ) and software players (such as Apple iTunes and MusicMatch) support different file formats. The format supported by all is MP3. There are other file formats that we support, such as WMA or AAC, but we'll send back MP3 unless you specify otherwise. Each compression format offers various bitrates. Bitrate is the average number of bits that one second of audio data will consume.
MusicRip: Mobilize Your Music
MusicRip provides MP3s at 224kbps. Please note: most of our competitors do not offer this bitrate by default and charge extra for this level of quality. We support all other formats -- if it can be done, we'll do it. This includes, but is not limited to: MP3, WMA, AAC, FLAC, Apple Lossless (ALAC), and Windows Media Lossless. We do charge a slightly higher rate for formats other than MP3. For a custom quote, please contact us directly.
Ripit Good: FAQ
For the best balance between file size and sound quality for both home stereo and portable MP3 player use, MP3 files at 128kbps or 192kbps is the best choice. By selecting a lower bitrate, you are able to maintain CD sound quality, while at the same time, maximize the storage space needed to hold the collection. For this reason, 128kbps and 192kbps are very popular bit -rates for MP3 files.
ANSWER: Shortly – it refers to data transfer speed. The bitrate describes the amount of data used/transferred within a time period. It is directly related to the compression level – for example, if we use DV video (approximately 1:5 compression) we would need 25 Mbit per second. If we use MPEG2 compression at bitrate = 6 Mbit/sec, the compression level will be 1:27. Therefore, the higher the bitrate we are using, the lower the compression and the better the quality.

The bitrate of a music file is describing the audio quality that the track has been encoded at (converted to digital format from the original recording). 'Kbps' (kilobits per second) basically means the number of digital samples bits. The music files you purchase from us are encoded at a bitrate of at least 160kbps. For the human ear, 160kbps is hard to distinguish from CD quality sound.

vision" is commonly accepted as the standard of normal distance vision for a human being. Basically it means "good visual acuity at 20 feet." So if your vision is 20/20, you can read certain sizes of letters on a Snellen chart clearly at 20 feet or closer. But if your friend has 20/15 vision, his visual acuity is better than yours: you would have to stand 15 feet away from the chart to read the smaller letters that he can read while standing 20 feet away.

HI-TECH Software Frequently Asked Questions
I can not find any explanation in the manual on the call graph section > of the map file generated by the linker. > - Some functions are marked with a star. These are functions on the critical path - i.e. if you want to reduce the amount of RAM used for arguments and locals, you can ignore those functions NOT marked with a star, because they do not influence the total. Of course if you change a critical function, and reduce the RAM needed, other functions may then become critical.
QDESIGN : Frequently Asked Questions
The highest bitrate possible for your application should always be used. For example, to produce audio that streams over a 28.8 Kbps modem connection you should use a bitrate of 20 or 24 kbits/s. For higher quality music download or video applications, a bitrate of 64 to 128 kbits/s might be more appropriate.

Shorten (extension .shn) is an audio compression scheme written by Tony Robinson of SoftSound that can compact wav files without subtracting out any frequencies. It's "lossless"- everything in the original wav is there, so that full quality is maintained. For many traders of live music, Shorten files (shns) therefore have an undisputed advantage over "lossy" mp3-format files.
