If your desire is for a "clear stain," your best choice is a stain color that most closely matches the color of your wood. It will stabilize color and far outlast any clear finish. The reality is that in manufacturing the log home, you have removed all of the natural defenses that trees have. Since they are no longer living, the sap and resins no longer nourish the fibers.

The clear braces themselves don't stain, but the clear alastic ties sometimes stain with the use of nicotine and coffee products. These alastic ties are changed at every visit.

Acid Stain is not for every concrete floor. The concrete MUST be bare. There can be no sealers, curing compounds, bond breakers, paints, etc. on the surface. Concrete Floor Stains can be used on the interior or exterior. While some companies may tell you that some Concrete Floor Acid Stain colors may be more sensitive to moisture and can not be used on the exterior the Artistic Decor System stains can be used on just about any concrete surface. They are also UV stable and will not fade on an exterior surface.

On some pipes, yes. I use a combination of alcohol and water soluable dyes. I'll never use an oil based stain.

Only alcohol based non-toxic stains are used. Even after the pipe becomes warmed up there is no "off gassing" such as petroleum based stains nor are there any spotting or leaking from analine or water based dyes.
