The Counseling Center provides counseling for NC State students experiencing personal, academic or vocational problems. Psychological assessment and psychiatric consultation are also available. Services are primarily short-term in nature and referrals to other helping professionals and community agencies are made as appropriate. Strict confidentiality is assured. Yes only students enrolled for a minimum of 6 credit hours are eligible to receive counseling. Spouses and children are sometimes seen with the student as part of couples or family counseling. We are fortunate to have many places in Cache Valley where counseling/mental health services may be obtained. Utah State University operates two clinics -- The Community Clinic and the Family Life Center - Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic -- which provide counseling services for non-students.

While most of the Center's three hundred fifty members strive to become Microsoft Certified and return to competitive employment, only about twenty have achieved Microsoft Certification in the past year. Of these, about half are employed ($10-20/hr) and half are enrolled in additional MS Certified courses; most often PowerPoint and Excel. Another fifty-five students left before completing the certification program for employment.

The Advising & Testing Center provides career advisors to assist students and prospective students with career exploration. Students work with counselors to review such issues as college majors, employment outlook and educational requirements of various career options. Advisors can also assist students in identifying additional sources of career exploration information. The Center offers a career exploration class (COUN 101 Introduction to Career Exploration).

The Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) transcript is an official academic record of a student's coursework undertaken for credit in Harvard College or the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. The transcript is printed on secured paper bearing the Registrar's signature and embossed seal. FAS does not produce unofficial transcripts. The FAS Student Record is an internal advising document that includes information on coursework undertaken in a specific degree program.

No, any currently enrolled, fee-paying students may use the health center services. It does not matter whether the student has insurance, because we are not providers for any company other than the university-sponsored insurance.

The Student Health Center keeps all health records, including vaccination records for a period of 10 years after you graduate or leave the College. To obtain a copy of your health records you must complete and submit a personally signed release of medical information form to the Student Health Center. We have a well-equipped student support center. For students enrolled in Ashwood, we provide a 24-hour Student Support Center, where students are free to post questions and coordinate and contact with the faculty. Ashwood also provides deserving students a unique financial assistance program.

Setting up a first appointment is quite simple. Come by the Counseling Center during our normal hours and request an appointment. We can typically schedule appointments within the same week. Although, we prefer students to come to the Counseling Center to initiate services, for students who are currently out of the area or are unable to come by the Counseling Center, you can call 919-515-2423. However, we do have clinicians available to see students on an emergency basis.
