Can I use handmade soap to wash my hair?

Frequently asked questions at Coconut Coast Handmade Soap Co...
Absolutely! We've been using handmade soap to wash our own hair, and really like the difference. Just rub the bar of soap across your hair a few times and you'll have a nice thick lather. There's no residue left on your hair, it rinses out and leaves your hair squeaky clean. Haven't noticed the need to "lather, rinse, repeat" as some shampoo manufacturers suggest.

Can I use your soap to wash my hair?

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions-Handmade Soap - Blue Ridge ...
Absolutely, YES! Our soaps are made with high percentages of Olive and Castor oils which provide wonderful conditioning for your hair and scalp. You'll find it rinses out fast! Just as different people's skin requires different levels of moisture, you'll need to test out which of our soaps gives your hair the look and feel you want. See similar questions...

What's in your handmade soap?

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions-Handmade Soap - Blue Ridge ...
We use a base recipe of four oils: Olive, Castor, Coconut and Palm Oils. We refer to soaps made using our four oil recipe as Regular Recipe Soaps. To increase the moisturizing ability of our soaps we sometimes add goat milk (we have 50+ varieties of goat milk soap), or shea and cocoa butters (we have about 25 fragrances of shea soaps). These three levels of moisture will take care of most skin types. We even make 100% Olive Oil Castile soap and Grandma's Ole Lye Soap made with lard. See similar questions...

Do you use tallow in your handmade soap?

Frequently asked questions at Coconut Coast Handmade Soap Co...
We don't use tallow (animal fat) or other animal products in our soap. Some of the common animal products used in soap making are tallow, lard, lanolin, milk and beeswax. We believe that we are able to produce a premium handmade soap without the use of any animal products in our formula. Tallow can be found in most of the commercial soap produced today, and it's usually listed in it's saponified state as sodium tallowate. See similar questions...

Can I wash my hair with the soap, instead of the shampoo?

About the Soap
Yes, you can! I don't recommend it for every time, unless that happens to work for your hair, but just once won't give you that washed-with-soap-hair feeling. It will not leave a residue like commercial soap. The body soap does not contain the same conditioning oils as the shampoo, so it will not leave your hair quite as soft, but some people wash their hair with it regularly with no problem. I have sensitive skin, can I use handmade soap?

Frequently asked questions at Coconut Coast Handmade Soap Co...
Yes. For those of you with sensitive skin, we recommend that you do try a handmade soap. We think you'll be surprised at how mild handmade soap really is. One of our younger clients suffers with eczema and tells us that his skin condition improves greatly when using handmade soap. He's especially fond of our Cinnamon soap. He's told us that the Lavender soap is really good for his skin, but he'd rather not smell like a bunch of little purple flowers. See similar questions...

Q Can I wash my hair every day?

When can I shower and wash my hair?

FAQ
You may take a shower from the neck down right after surgery. It is important that soap and shampoo do not contact the operated eye. This will help avoid irritation of the eye. During this time, a family member, a friend, or your hair dresser can wash your hair while you are lying back, but you should wear your metal shield and an eye pad over the operated eye. After one week you can resume normal showering and shampooing. See similar questions...

How should I take care of my handmade soap to make it last?

handmade handmade soap faq, all natural body products and ha...
Handmade soap is a special product. Because it contains glycerin, it can retain more moisture than other soaps. To extend the life of your handcrafted soap, place it in a well-draining soap dish. (see our massage, salon & spa page to purchase proper soap dishes) Keep unused bars in a cool, dry place out of direct contact with water. A good soap is like a good wine, the longer it cures, the better and more mild it becomes. Our soaps will last approximately 3 weeks for single use. See similar questions...

Why is handmade soap more moisturizing than other soaps?

About the Soap
Handmade soap is more moisturizing because it contains glycerin, a natural by-product of the soap-making process, and because it has a bit of extra oil--superfatting, left over. Also, it does not contain the commonly-used dyes, perfumes, detergents and other synthetic ingredients, which can be harsh for human skin. See similar questions...

What is the difference between handmade soap and milled soap?

Woodspirits presents New Products
They are created in very different ways. In milling, a process developed in Italy and correctly called "plodded", soap starts not with whole vegetable and animal fats and oils, but with substances withdrawn from these fats and oils. These substances are called isolated fatty acids. The fatty acids are used to make milled soaps because they produce a harder soap that can withstand the process of milling and forming that is required to hold the designs and logo's of modern soap.
