mAh stands for milli Ampere hour or milli Amp hour. It is a measure of a battery's energy storage capacity. If you think of a battery as a small fuel storage tank, which in a sense it is, mAh a measure of how much "fuel" the battery holds. (This is roughly comparable to using gallons to measure how much fuel a gas tank can hold. The more gallons of capacity, the more fuel the tank can hold.) With a battery the higher the mAh rating the more electrical energy it can store.

mAh refers to milliampere-hours and it is a measure of how much current the battery is able to supply over an hour and it is used as an indication of how much capacity the battery has. The higher the mAh rating, the longer the battery will last.

The mAh rating refers to the storage capacity available for a particular battery. A battery with a capacity rating of 2400 mAh could deliver a current of 2400mA for one hour. Higher mAh ratings for the same battery type will generally mean longer run times. This does not apply when comparing different types of batteries. This means that you may not be able to predict how long your electronic device will run just by looking at the capacity rating.

The milliamp hour is the standard unit of storage capacity for a cell. It is similar to "gallons of fuel" for a combustion engine. The milliamp hour rating of a cell tells how many constant milliamps of current can be supplied by the pack for one hour. This rating can be used to find the duration a battery pack can provide, given a certain draw. Because cells are wired in series, the milliamp hour rating of a pack is the same as the milliamp hour rating of a single cell.

ODEP stands for Output Device Emulator Protection. ODEP is an analog computer simulation of the output device thermal impedance. In layman's terms ODEP stores how much power the amplifier delivers to its load and its heatsink temperature. If the protection circuit determines that the output stage is being overstressed or cannot dissipate any further heat, then output stage drive is limited (Also see the FAQ, "What is TLC?" below).

UMF stands for "Unique Manuka Factor", and is the trademark for the special antibacterial property found in Manuka Honey. When honey is diluted, a special enzyme the bees have added produces hydrogen peroxide, a well known antibiotic. Manuka Honey has been found to have an antibacterial activity in addition to hydrogen peroxide. No one has so far discovered the substance involved, so it is called UMF.
