In all cases on this list, your client-side program is exposed to remote software code, which could use the program as a channel to infiltrate your system. By running the program sandboxed, you greatly increase the control you have over that channel.

Sandboxie works on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2003. There is some support for older 64-bit versions of Windows: see the download page. Sandboxie does not work on Windows 95, 98 or ME, or on Mac operating systems. There are no plans to support these environments. There are no particular hardware requirements. Sandboxie needs only a small amount of memory and should have a very small impact on performance.

You would be quite safe using Sandboxie. It should be noted that, from time to time, people are able to find some vulnerability in Sandboxie, an open hole through which malicious software can still infiltrate the system. This happens once every few months, on average, and is quickly resolved by closing the hole that is the attack vector. Thus it's a good idea to have more traditional anti-malware software. This is is the subject of the following question.

Sandboxie extends the operating system (OS) with sandboxing capabilities by blending into it. Applications can never access hardware such as disk storage directly, they have to ask the OS to do it for them. Since Sandboxie integrates into the OS, it can do what it does without risk of being circumvented.

By default Sandboxie is configured to load and start automatically. To have Sandboxie load only when you need it, make the following changes. Outdated drivers for you rgraphics card is the main problem that causes GL errors. Try to get an updated driver from your graphics card manufacturer. If you use a notebook, you may have to get it from your notebook manufacturer. For ATI cards such as the Radeon go to http://www.ati.com/. Reports written using MDR can increase performance ten fold, or even a hundred fold. Instead of running a report from start to finish, MDR splits up the report into intervals of work.
