CPS does really run 100% seperated from Director so it also doesn't change anything to Director itsself. You can still use Director's sound functions at the same time, although not all soundcards support playback of two programs to the same device, so it is not advised.

No. The Java Virtual Machine is only used to run the CPS program, but not when CPS is used standAlone. Unless of course if you are using CPS standAlone in Java, but then you can use any Java Virtual Machine you want, not just the Microsoft VM.

Yes, but you have to run them in the same executable file, or in the same Director (or Projector). If you start one engine several times, but not within one file (for example not inside one .exe file), then some engine calls can get mixed up and things can go seriously wrong. This problem may be solved in the future, however if you are aware of this, it should be no problem.

If the message font that you are using does not natively support the active keyboard locale, the keyboard locale will reset to the default locale for the font. The solution to the locale changing when you send a message is to select a different message font that supports the keyboard locale that you are using.

The Inform compiler for OS X must be run through the Unix Terminal utility. If you double-click on its icon from a Finder window, nothing much happens: a Terminal window opens and runs the compiler without parameters, which triggers a "basic usage" message and ends up by stating that no compilation was requested. It appears that the OS X Classic engine does not allow QuickTime video input in most cases. We have had reports of some users getting this to work but in most cases it appears that the QuickTime FireWire input does not work in Classic. If you have not yet purchased the software, you can use the demo version to determine if video input will work for you.
