Since the Winter Semester 2003/2004 the University of Kassel offers a theory-oriented graduate program in Global Political Economy. The two-years program results in the degree “Master of Arts (M.A.) in Global Political Economy”. The curriculum is oriented on the “International/Global Political Economy” program taught at American, British, and a few Northern European universities.

Master’s degree seeking students typically can complete a 30-hour master’s program in 1 to 2 years with full-time enrollment of 9 hours fall and winter semesters. Doctoral degree seeking students are allowed 7 years to complete a doctoral program. Doctoral degree seeking students, also referred to as precandidates, typically complete coursework requirements in years 1, 2 and 3 with full-time enrollment of 9 hours fall and winter semesters.

The Master of Science in Information Security (MSIS) program involves seven eight-week terms with four weeks of vacation added at different points during the year. Thus, students can finish their MSIS degree after a total of sixty weeks of attending 60 sessions in the evening or on the weekend.

We have found that students are most successful when they are full-time students. We, however, consider applicants for part-time enrollment.

A maximum of 8 quarter credits may be accepted towards the Master’s degree; however, the course curriculum must be reviewed and approved. The School of Public Health offers one-year programs for applicants who hold a Ph.D., M.D. or other advanced degree. Medical school students are also eligible to apply for the one-year program.

The majority of Ph.D. students have Master’s Degrees, but it is possible to be admitted to the Ph.D. program directly from undergraduate studies. The course of study in such instances typically entails approximately one extra year. The Ph.D. degree is not intended for clinical training, however. Individuals wanting to become clinically-certified, should apply to the master’s program.

Students attending JTS full-time and on-site can complete the course work in two to three years. The time it takes someone to complete the degree is dependent on his or her level of Hebrew at the time he or she enters the program and his or her academic background in Judaic studies.

The courses you have taken at another institution, whether in Georgia or another state will have to be evaluated for transfer credit with a Dalton State Education Division advisor or the Registrar.

The Women’s Studies Program does not offer a terminal Master’s degree. You can, however, receive an MA in English, History, Psychology, or Sociology on your way to completing the requirements for the joint Women’s Studies PhD. All requirements for the MA as stipulated by the other department must be met in order to do so.
