Students can find off-campus and on-campus employment through the Student Employment Office. There are many jobs available throughout the campus. Many students have financial aid packages that require student employment each semester. Whatever the reason, on campus employment is no only a good source of additional income, but also a way to get connected to this community, to meet other students and professional staff members.

A private college of the Liberal Arts and Sciences which confers the Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) is a type of institution that exists only in the United States. These institutions are based on the idea that to successfully participate in the global workplace students need to have studied across a broad spectrum of subjects. They must be able to think critically and see the connections between disciplines in both the sciences and the humanities.

We will continue to build on the successes of our current program, with offerings in both the performing and visual arts. As student interests and talents permit, we will offer a number of instrumental and vocal ensemble opportunities. Furthermore, we will have ample opportunity for our students to explore their interests in theater (both on stage and behind the scenes) and in dance.

The double degree allows students to learn the skills of critical analysis while deepening their knowledge within certain 'disciplines' offered or approved by the Arts Faculty such as: The double degree also offers the opportunity for students to gain a professional qualification in social work. The Monash Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) course is approved by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), and graduates are eligible for membership of the Association.

You will learn the basics of how to produce professional quality video programs. This includes "above-the-line" experience in producing, writing, directing, casting, and art direction.

If you can't find a home employment situation where you live, you may have to create one. Try talking to the boss and selling her/him on the benefits of telecommuting. Many employers just have no clue. It's not a typical employment situation so many times its never even been considered. Looking at local traditional jobs may be the best place to start. Make sure you do your homework first. Also be prepared to offer to start in the office for a while before a trust factor is established.

Students work in a variety of fields upon graduation. Some continue their professional work while others start new employment in industries such as publishing, screenwriting, editing, art design or managing fine arts organizations. Yet, there are still others who decide to work for themselves or continue their studies in graduate school.

The Virginia Campus offers graduate degrees in leadership, management, technology and engineering at this time. While there are no plans now to expand this mission, if there is sufficient market demand for programs or courses, the University will evaluate and consider every possibility.

Term activation means permission to register. Everyone currently enrolled is "term activated" for the following semester. A student has to be enrolled currently to be term activated for the next semester. Students need term activation to access the registration system. To check for term activation, go to Learning Management and using the 10-digit ID number or the look-up feature using the student's first and last name pull up the student's record. Click on the blue "I" icon.

A variety of scholarships are available. The Office of Student Financial Aid publishes a guidebook each spring. The College Office has an application process that occurs each year during the month of February. The TCOM department has scholarships available to TCOM majors.
