Certified copies of the death certificate are issued by the county or state where the death occurred. Typically, you can expect the certified copies to arrive within two (2) weeks time, but some circumstances may make the process longer.

Students who have graduated from the University of Sheffield may send or bring photocopies of their University of Sheffield degree certificate to SSiD to be certified. There are charges associated with this for multiple copies or for students who have graduated more than 12 months ago.

The Certified Copy of the Death Certificate is printed on special safety paper and has a raised seal. Photocopies are not usually allowed.

The copies in a file can be certified and there is a $10.00 fee per file for those certified copies plus the $ .25 per page.

About 6 weeks. You can expect to receive your certificate around mid-month following the month you become certified. So if you get certified on January 3rd, you can expect to receive your certificate around February 15th.

Many families are surprised (and angered) to find out that an autopsy report will not be ready for anywhere between 3 and 14 months. The actual autopsy may only take a few hours, but the report is comprised of information that may take months to get back. One example is the toxicology report.
