g -What do you mean by impedance (Ohms)?

Marshall Amps :: Frequently Asked Questions
Impedance is the load connecting to the speaker socket on the amplifier or combo to give maximum power transference. This must match the stated impedance value on the amplifier or combo to ensure no damage can be caused to the speaker or amplifier.

That is a body that exemplifies a non denominational, Ten Commandment keeping movement that also believe that Israel as the Kingdom of God is, within. See similar questions...

Can I run the unit below 4 ohms load?

Technical Support
Well, probably. The MA 6S will not be damaged but you will obtain much less power output, and an extremely hot amplifier. To protect itself the MA 6S will current limit to the best of its ability. The MA 3 will current limit also and its fan must be set to high speed. Be forewarned that running below rated impedance voids the warranty and may damage the amplifier channels as well as power supply. See similar questions...

What are 'ohms per square'?

Four Point Probes by Jandel Engineering Limited
The unit of measurement when measuring the resistance of a thin film of a material using the four point probe technique. It is equal to the resistance between two electrodes on opposite sides of a theoretical square. The size of the square is unimportant. See similar questions...

What are 'ohms-centimeter'?

Four Point Probes by Jandel Engineering Limited
The unit of measurement when measuring the bulk or volume resistivity of thick or homogeneous materials such as bare silicon wafers or silicon ingots, using the four point probe technique. RESISTIVITY is the inherent property of the material which gives it electrical resistance. It is sometimes called Specific Resistance. Sheet resistance is the resistance of a thin sheet of material which when multiplied by the thickness (in cm) gives the value of resistivity. See similar questions...

Q. What does low impedance mean?

Parker McCrory Mfg Co
In non-technical terms, low impedance means the fence charger is designed to effectively shock through vegetation and other foreign matters contacting the charged wire. Vegetation such as grass, weeds, vines, etc., contacting the charged wire tend to impede or stop the flow of electricity by "grounding out" the fence. This is a common problem which exists on most electric fence installations. See similar questions...

a - What is the impedance of my cabinet?

Marshall Amps :: Frequently Asked Questions
Your cabinet should have a model number and rating plate on the back, if there is no rating plate the cabinet will need to have the impedance measured by an engineer. We do not recommend using the cabinet until the impedance has been checked as it could damage both your amplifier and cabinet if either is used incorrectly. If your cabinet has a rating plate the impedance of the cabinet must match the impedance of the amplifier you are connecting it to. See similar questions...

How do I convert from ohms per square to ohms-centimetre?

Four Point Probes by Jandel Engineering Limited
The term Ohms-cm (Ohms centimeter) refers to the measurement of the "bulk" or "volume" resistivity of a semi-conductive material. Ohms-cm is used for measuring the conductivity of a three dimensional material such as a silicon ingot or a thick layer of a material. The term "Ohms-per-square" is used when measuring sheet resistance, i.e., the resistance value of a thin layer of a semi-conductive material. See similar questions...

Ohms Per Square What?

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions about custom thermoforming ...
It doesn’t matter. Ohms per square is the unit of an electrical measurement of surface resistivity across any given square area of a material. It is the measurement of the opposition to the movement of electrons across an area of a material's surface and normalized to a unit square. This measurement is intended to be a basic material parameter and not dependent on absolute area, length or thickness. See similar questions...

I-G. What is a standby ?

CRYONICS − FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
A standby describes the circumstance of a team of cryonics-emergency support people standing by the bedside of a patient waiting for the heart to stop − and for legal pronouncement of death. Once a qualified medical professional has pronounced death the standby team can begin cardiopulmonary support (heart compression and ventilation) and cooldown to preserve the living tissues and organs of the cryonics patient. What does "Open G#" mean?

Larry Krantz Flute Pages - FLUTE FAQ
First The G# hole which is the one under the pad connected to the G# lever on a closed G# flute does NOT exist. Second the two keys which go down together when the third finger of the left hand is depressed are totally independent. The lower one of these two keys (the one nearer the footjoint) is directly soldered to the G# lever. When playing this type of flute for the first time, the most obvious difference is that for all notes below G, the G# key must be continually depressed. See similar questions...

Can you simply explain Ohms and resistance?

Fhrx Studios - Audio / Visual Specialists
Well lets see? Put simply, Ohms is the measurement of electrical resistance and system impedance. It is a measure of the degree to which electrons are limited in both velocity and quantity in passing through a circuit. In Impedance measurements, this takes into account, the mechanical resistance inherent in the motion of transducers. The standard is usually 4 ohms for car audio and 8 ohms for home and commercial audio. Some specialty woofers may be rated at 2, 6, 12 or even 16 ohms. See similar questions...

What do strain generation prefixes like 'G', 'F', 'N', and 'NE' mean?

FAQ - The Jackson Laboratory
G" is a generic prefix for "generation", used predominantly in mutagenesis schemes (e.g. where G0 is the mutagenized generation, G1 is the first generation, etc). "F" is strictly for "filial" generation, i.e. progeny of matings between siblings. "N" stands for backcross matings, i.e. back to the parent or parental strain. "NE" stands for N-equivalent and is used when a subsequent generation is crossed back to a prior one. See similar questions...

Can I run one channel of my Crown amplifier at a different impedance than the other channel?

Amplifier Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. All dual channel Crown amplifiers can be treated as if they are two separate "mono" amplifiers (One channel completely independent of the other) For example: A Macro-Tech 1202 can function with a single eight-ohm speaker on channel one and four eight-ohm speakers (a two-ohm load) on channel two. A Com-Tech 410 can function with one or two eight-ohm speakers on one channel and the other channel switched to 70-volt operation. See similar questions...

What is imaginary impedance?

FAQ
Since an AC potential is applied to the cell, there will probably be a phase shift between the applied AC potential and the AC current response. Therefore, the impedance can be represented using a vector diagram displaying the in-phase (Z') and out-of-phase (Z") impedances, the total impedance, and the phase angle. Since complex number terminology is also used when analyzing impedance spectra, the in-phase and out-of-phase impedances are often referred to as real and imaginary impedances. Frequently asked questions | Experience Burma
The rainy season (monsoon) is from mid-May to mid-October with an average temperature of 25-30 C. Although it rains heavily in Yangon and Inle Lake, traveling in Myanmar during this season is still enjoyable because Mandalay and Bagan lies in dry zones where it barely rains. The cool season ( winter ) is from mid-October to mid-February, with an average temperature of 20-24 C. This is the best season to visit Burma. See similar questions...
