You cannot dye synthetic wigs. You can rinse them though with color rinses such as Roux "Fancifull Rinse" which is available at any Sally's Beauty Supply store or drugstore. You can't rinse them lighter, but you can add color to rinse the synthetic wigs darker or a richer or different tone (ash or gold). Plain water may take out most of the rinse, so be careful in a soaking rain storm when wearing your wig after applying a color rinse. You may get the rinse on your face and clothes. No matter what your hair length we would recommend that you use a Wig Cap Liner. This will hold all hairs securely in place under your wig. Even if you have no hair this liner will make wearing your wig feel more secure. Hold the wig with one hand by the back (where the tags are). Loosen the velcro straps or hooks in the back of the wig, you can re-size it later. Grasp the wig by the sides and slip it over your hair. See similar questions...

The fabric must be able to withstand 60 degree Celsius water and must not be damaged by creasing. Cold dyes exist but they're a pain in the neck to use and the colour doesn't stand up to repeated washing. Buy some Dylon Hand Dye (Woolworths sell it along with their sewing stuff) and a bag of cooking salt. Then get hold of an old bucket or bowl, a pair of rubber gloves and a clean wooden stick (the bowl, gloves and stick will be stained afterwards). See similar questions...

The technical answer is yes, but we do not recommend any further processing of the hair if it has already been dyed and processed. Further, only experienced colorists should attempt to color the hair. Remember that though the hair is 100% human hair, it is just as prone to damage from excessive processing as your own hair. A No and no! You can't remove it yourself. Unlike a wig or hairpiece, you don't "take it off" at night, or before you get in the shower; you don't need to "dress" it etc. The system is integrated into your existing hair so it becomes a part of you. This means that you can wash and style it just like you would a normal head of hair; you can swim, go out in the wind and rain etc. all without fear of detection. A dye is soluble (dissolves) in water, oils, alcohol, or glycerin. The color of dyes can change when put in a high pH environment. This includes cold process soap making. Synthetic dyes are best. The 'Ritt' dye rarely works well and tends to be coloured, though it isnt available in the UK. There is a japanese semi-natural dye (Ginsa?) which is not bad if you can get it. As for tips on how to actually dye clothes with this: Don't use a Washing machine. Yes, we can provide a fabric dye service. The fabric you wish to dye must be 100% natural fibre and shrinkage resistant. Any visible thread is most likely to have a polyester content and will not take the colour. Consider this statistic - 3% of all dye jobs of garments in the made up state are 100% satisfactory.
