It depends on why the vehicle was towed. If the vehicle was towed because of a parking violation, you may get your vehicle released by coming to the Northfield Safety Center. You will need current proof of registration, insurance and proof of a person with a valid driver's license. If the vehicle was impounded because of a criminal act or violation, we suggest you call our office to determine what you must do to have your vehicle released.

If your car has been impounded for 30 days, you may request a "Post Storage Hearing" to appeal the impound. You must submit your request within 10 days of the date of the impound. You may come in to the police station for a copy of this request, or a copy the "Request for Vehicle Storage Hearing" is provided on the Internet for you to fill out and bring to the station.
