When should Implanon® be inserted?

Your doctor will advise you when to have Implanon® inserted. If you are not using hormonal contraception, this is preferably between days one and five of your menstrual cycle. Day one is the first day when you are having your period. The use of a local anesthetic will numb the area and it should only take about one minute to place Implanon®.
