I understood that it is different for each woman (both EMB and HSG). For some EMB is very painful and HSG is hardly felt, for others it is the other way around. For me, the EMB felt like one cramp (short, not nice but not to bad either) and I was fine afterwards. For the HSG I took a painkiller (I asked my RE for one). They use a different sort of speculum, a tiny bit more uncomfortable than the normal one (it is more like a circle than a duck's beak).

Lets face it, dogs are itchy. Excessive itchiness can drive dogs and their owners crazy. The most common causes are: Fleas, allergies and dry skin. Fleas are eliminated by a shampoo and dip, followed by Advantage. It is also critical to clean and treat the areas which are frequented by the dog.

Hip replacement could be either hemi replacement in which only ball of the femur is replaced, or total hip replacement in which ball is replaced and even the socket is changed. Both the hemi and total replacement may either be of cemented variety or non-cemented variety.

Shower after you swim and use a mild soap to remove pool chemicals. There are swimmer soaps that are supposed to remove pool chemicals from the skin, or you can use that swimmer shampoo as a body shampoo. You might find that using a exfoliant or scrub puff to remove scaly dead skin will take care of that "fishscale" appearance. Apply a mild lotion while the skin is still moist. Sitting around in a wet bathing suit can result in a rash.

Itchy is the mouse and Scratchy is the cat, I forget where I heard this, but a good way to remember is that you can use letters from "Scratchy" to spell "CAT"

Patients will feel firm pressure but no significant pain. If you feel discomfort, please inform the technologist. Compression decreases breast motion that can cause blurry images. Thicker breast tissue also causes x-ray scatter and that degrades images. The total x-ray dose to the breast is greatly reduced by good breast compression.
