This is becoming more of a common problem because a lot of computers are now coming out with just USB connections. The way around this is to either purchase a USB to Serial port converter, or contact the manufacturer of the product to see if they have a USB connection for the instrument.

Our sterilization methods meet or exceed the standards set by the Center for Disease Control. All instruments are washed, scrubbed, placed in an ultrasonic disinfectant solution, then placed in the sterilizer at high temperatures.

Installation is done by remote control: no one has to get wet. The ROV Ventana, a remote-controlled submarine, will string cable from the MARS node to each instrument, then use its robotic arm to plug special connectors into waterproof and pressure-tolerant sockets known as "wet-matable connectors." All files -- including all preset libraries -- used by a montage should be in the folder that contains the montage or in a subfolder of that folder. Dental instruments are cleaned and sterilized at very high temperatures after each time they are used on a patient. Recommended sterilization methods include: an autoclave (steam under pressure), a dry heat oven, or chemical vapor (commonly called a chemiclave). The sterilization equipment usually is not in the treatment room, but if you'd like to see how and where it's done, ask the dental staff to show you.

Without giving away any secrets, we can tell you that the first step is creating a master (commonly called a key or plug) of the instrument. From this one master one to many molds are made. They had several for each L series instrument, and anywhere form 8 to 12 for each neck. A composite gel coat (what you see as the "paint") is sprayed in the mold first, up to 1/8" thick in places. The Local Public Health System Performance Assessment Instrument (Local Instrument) focuses on the local public health system or all entities that contribute to public health within a community.
