All M coupes use the same size tires (225/45ZR17 in the front and 245/40ZR17 in the rear) mounted on one of two versions of the five-spoke "M RoadStar" alloy wheel. Both are sized 7.5x17-inch (front) and 9x17-inch (rear), but there are two distinct finishes: Early M coupes (S50 and S52 engines) feature a Chromeline finish, while the later models (S54 engine) utilize a darker Chrome Shadow finish.

There were two available wheel and tire sizes for the M635CSi. Early European-spec cars used the standard 6 Series metric-sized wheels (390mm x 165mm) with 220/55VR390 Michelin TRX tires. However, optional from the start of production (standard in some markets) were larger, two-piece alloys in a cross-spoke design measuring 415mm x 195mm (16.3-in. x 7.7-in.). Cars with these wheels carry 240/45VR415 Michelin TRX tires.

All E39 M5s are fitted exclusively with 18-inch M Parallel Spoke II cast alloy wheels featuring a Satin Chrome finish. These wheels, which measure 8x18-inch (front) and 9.5x18-inch (rear) and wear staggered 245/40ZR18 (front) and 275/35ZR18 (rear) tires, are specific to the E39 M5.

There were two available factory wheel and tire sizes for the E28 M5. Early European-spec cars have metric-sized wheels measuring 195mm x 390mm with 220/55VR390 tires. Later European-spec examples, as well as all those sold in North America and South Africa, have 7.5x16-inch cross-spoke alloy wheels with 225/50VR16 tires, usually Pirelli P700s.

There are two factory 17-inch wheels for the E34 M5, M System I and M System II. Both are a two-piece wheel with a forged five-spoke center and a cast rim covered by an outer cover. The only difference is the design of the outer cover, "turbine" for the M System I and "throwing star" for the M System II. This outer cover is interchangeable between the two M System wheels, making updating form the earlier style to the later style an easy (and therefore common) procedure. The 3.

Several people have successfully installed 18" wheels on their E46's, however it is unlikely that this improves performance over a 17" wheel. The advantages of a larger wheel are better steering response and aesthetics. Not only does this save you the money that it would cost at an independent tire shop, you also reduce the risk of that tire shop damaging the wheels.

No. We cannot sell replicas with original equipment trademarks. If we could, no doubt the manufacturers of our parts would increase prices relative to the cost of the original equipment parts. This principal applies to all mfgs of aftermarket parts, whether they make fuel pumps or wheel covers. Our aftermarket wheel covers sell for significantly less than original equipment parts. If you want the emblem or trademark you'll have to buy an original equipment part.

Stock 18" tires are 225/45/18 Front and 255/40/18 Rear and 225/40/19 Front and 255/35/19 Rear with optional 19" wheels.

The second set of numbers(90), is the aspect ratio. It's just a percentage of the tire's width, in this case 90%. 130 x .90 = 117, so the tire is 130mm wide and 117mm tall from the rim to the highest point of the tread

Never try to mount your own tires. Tire mounting is a job for the people who have the proper equipment and experience. If you try to do it yourself, you run the risk of serious injury to yourself as well as possible damage to the tire and rim. Never choose a smaller size than those that came with the car. Tires should always be replaced with the same size designation -- or approved options -- as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.

Some replace the factory wheels to customize their car or to facilitate plus sizing, while others purchase aftermarket wheels to use on the track. Whatever the reason, a wheel and tire package selected must fit within the wheel well without rubbing on the suspension or fender. On street cars, it should have an overall diameter that is within ?3% of the factory specification.
