Why can't I ride my dirt bike or ATV on Rampart Range Road?
Rampart Range FooterRampart Range Road is a county road and all the rules of public roadways apply. Any vehicle operating on the road must have a valid license plate, permanently mounted in a visible location, and the operator must posses a valid drivers license with a motorcycle endorsement. The exceptions to this rule are portions of Dakan Road, Jackson Creek Road and Watson Park Road. See the trail information for more details. If you are caught, you WILL receive a ticket!

Who are the Dirt Bike courses for?
Hitching Post Motorsports: Motorcycles, Scooters, ATVs, Snow...Anyone over the age of 6 who wants to learn more about riding off road. There are three different courses available for different ages and skill levels. The three courses offered are: Youth Dirt Bike School is for children ages 6 to 11. Parents are also actively participating in the training. Advanced Dirt Bike School is for those that have already passed the basic Dirt Bike School and are looking to further their skills.
What is the difference between a quad bike and an ATV?

This could include quad bikes, Landrovers, Argo-Cats etc. Quad bikes are the sit-astride four wheel bikes with handlebars. Total Rider recommends that the bike be in good condition, with a suitable muffler and spark arrester. Motocross bikes are discouraged. Riders must bring their own protective gear including a DOT approved helmet, eye protection, long sleeves, long pants, full-fingered gloves and over-the-ankle leather boots or shoes. Special courses may be arranged for clubs, organizations and other groups. A minimum of 6 students is required.
