The admissions committee looks at all aspects of your application when determining your admissions status. This includes your undergraduate GPA, your GRE score, your letters of recommendation, your essay, your professional experience and your other accomplishments.

There are no fixed standards for acceptable scores, and the GRE scores are just one of many factors in the admissions decision, but most successful applicants have verbal and mathematics GRE scores of 550 or higher.

We normally tell students they should be in the B+ range to be competitive. The admission process incorporates 1) overall GPA; 2) prerequisite GPA; and 3) GRE score. Each of these areas is weighted equally. Thereby, the applicant could remain in the competitive range if they were low in one area i.e. overall GPA and up in the other two. Historically, applicants with GRE scores below 900 are not competitive.

Although an applicant’s performance on the GRE is an important criterion for admission, we do not have minimum scores below which we will not admit. You will see unofficial scores for the Verbal and Quantitative sections on your computer at the end of the test if you choose to record your scores. You will receive official scores that include the analytical writing section in the mail in 10-15 business days.

For foreign applications, we require a TOEFL score of 600. While your GRE score is important, we have no specific cut-off for GRE scores, and consider the GRE score to be just one part of your overall application. The range of GRE scores for the verbal section was 640-750 and 600-800 for the quantitative section. The average GRE score for the verbal section was 664 and 760 for the quantitative section. The average GPA for students entering the program was 3.7.

The Prerequisites needed include Principles of Biology(an introductory course), Computer Programming(at least one semester equivalent to Georgia Tech's CS 1301), Organic Chemistry(an introductory course), Calculus(one year, equivelent to MATH 1501, 1502), and Physics(one year.) GPAs have ranged betwe en 3.4 - 4.0 for this program but no minimium has been established. The general GRE should be taken with scores at least 1800(Fall '99.)

The average M.A. student had a GPA of 3.6 and a GRE score of 1250. The average Ph.D. student had a GPA of 3.8 and a GRE score of 1270.

The weight given to standardized admissions exams varies from program to program and discipline to discipline. If your exam score is not reflective of your academic accomplishments and capabilities, it is often a good idea to ask one of your faculty recommenders to address it in the letter. This can be particularly effective if you have taken advanced courses or done independent study with that professor.

Yes, the Graduate School requires a graduate exam score on file for all students in a degree program, without exception.

Any member who won Champion or Reserve for a given division also earns an additional 10 or 6 points respectively. These bonus points are only displayed on the year-end points. You must be an ECHSA member and have earned at least one point to have points placed on the year-end points page. Riders earn points toward year-end for all equitation divisions. Horses and their owners earn points in all other Hunter and Jumper divisions.

An acceptance letter will be mailed to the applicant’s permanent address. An applicant can also check his or her admission status on MyLeo using the Campus-Wide Identification (CWID) number and Personal Identification Number (PIN).

If you did not complete high school and have not obtained a G.E.D., you may be able to attend FLCC. To be eligible, you must Achieve a minimum score on an Ability to Benefit (ATB) test administered at FLCC. The test includes an assessment of your reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, and Agree to follow course placement requirements for enrolling in a combination of courses that are designed to help you succeed in college.

If your undergraduate grade point average is 3.0 to 3.2, the verbal and quantitative scores together should total 1100; for grade points above 3.2, scores of 1000 may be acceptable.

What we are most interested in is the applicant's research potential. These scores are just one of many criteria we consider. There are no minimum scores. We much prefer students who have taken challenging advanced courses to those with top scores on rudimentary courses. There are many ways for applicants to demonstrate their research potential.
