Torque is a force that, when applied to what object, causes a turning motion. Torque is used to open doors, tighten screws, rotate wheels, and ride see-saws. Although forces are used on all these objects, these forces do not cause the object to accelerate in a straight line, but instead to turn. Torque is calculated by multiplying the force that is applied to the object by the distance the force was from the axis of rotation.

It may not matter to you. If you're fishing an open sand beach with no obstructions, light line is fine and you can let a fish run. But if you fish around a jetty, or near the pilings of a bridge, you might need to haul a fish away from an obstruction. A big fish in an inlet can use the current to stay away from you long enough for the hook to become loose in the jaw. That's when the higher torque and heavy line ability of a conventional reel is so useful.

Peak current refers to short spikes of current due to switching, sudden overloads, and other exceptional events. The AX2550 will sustain well over 250A of peak current. On most controllers, this current level, if sustained will damage the controller or blow the fuse if one is used. On the AX2550, the current limitation feature will cause it to automatically drop the output until the current drops to an acceptable level.

Electrical wires have an electrical resistance. The thinner the wire, the higher the resistance. When current flows through a wire, an amount of heat equal to the wire's resistance multiplied by the Amp to the square is generated. If the wire is too thin (i.e. its resistance is too high), then the wire will heat up, potentially melting its insulator, or even melting the copper.

Before receiving the loan of the instrument, the soloist has to sign a contract that binds him to pay for the instrument's insurance and storage. If he or she fails to pay for the insurance and the insurance company is about to cancel the insurance policy of the instrument, Stradivari Invest® takes over the insurance, nullifies the contract with the artist and takes the instrument back.

The case of careless handling or storage of the instrument will infringe the loan contract. The contract will be invalidated and the instrument will be taken back.

Tough question to answer, since steppers do not produce constant torque over their entire range. The static torque for the Z axis stepper is 370 oz-in, and the X is 150 oz-in. These are geared 3:1 and 2.5:1 to the leadscrews respectively, so there's quite a bit of torque capability there at low speeds. If you're thinking of building your own system, these are probably pretty good numbers to start with. I keep the gibs pretty tight, so there's a bit of drag in there to contend with.
