The Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors, Working Partnerships USA and People Acting in Community Together (PACT) have established the goal that 100% of the children residing in Santa Clara County have access to quality health care through comprehensive health insurance.

AHRQ's health IT initiative includes a broad scope of activities to promote, implement, and measure the value of health IT; develop statewide and regional networks; and encourage adoption of health IT by sharing knowledge. With grants and contracts in 40 states, AHRQ is stimulating investment in health IT across the nation, especially in rural and underserved areas.

HBSC is unique because it attempts to shed light on the factors that shape and influence health and health behaviour. For example, questions on relationships with others and on the local area in which young people grow up are included. In addition, the international aspect of HBSC helps us to monitor international trends and to exchange strategies and practices where certain countries have been more successful in containing particular risk behaviours, e.g. drug use.

Keeping Maine ’s Children Connected (KMCC) is an integrated approach to help children and youth who experience school disruption due to homelessness, foster care placement, correctional facility placement and/or in-patient psychiatric care. The intent is to simplify the transitions to and from school so that these children and youth can stay connected or re-connect to their educational program as soon as possible.

The Mental Health Services Act creates children's services targeted to those not covered by existing programs, particularly those with untreated mental disorders placing them at risk of severe mental illness, removal from home, suicide or violent behavior. Additionally, the Mental Health Services Act assures that parents will not be required to relinquish custody of a child in order to make the child eligible for medically necessary mental health care services. The Mental Health Services Act will expand mental health care programs for children and adults. The measure provides services to persons currently disabled by mental illness, persons showing signs of mental illness in need of prevention services, and to families and caregivers of those affected.
