By measuring. Using Martin ukes as the standard, soprano ukes are approximately 21 inches long, concert ukes are 23" long, tenor ukes are 26" long and baritone ukes ukes are 30-31" long.

Start with the most popular sizes, soprano or concert. This way you will have a point of reference if later you decide to try something else.

Unless otherwise specifically stated (ie., youth or women's), all our garments are base on a full cut men's sizing (not unisex). Our garments are graded up from men's standard sizing : for example...chest sizes We tell people "If you're a large...order a large". Most people would panic if we listed the actual measurements of each garment. North America: Most vehicles have an emissions decal placed either on the backside of the hood, on the radiator core support, or on the air box (the box that holds the air filter in place). Your engine size should be shown on the decal (4.0L for example). If you can't find the emissions decal you may also find the engine size printed on the decal under the hood that shows your engine's belt routing.

There are two main ways of sizing ukuleles. The first is to simply measure how long your uke is from top to bottom. The second and more accurate way, is to measure the string scale-length. This is done by finding the distance from where the strings leave the nut, to the center of the 12th fret, and doubling that measurement.

From the late 1920's to mid 1930's, the ukulele reached it's zenith as the height of fashion. In that era, the little uke seemed to be ubiquitous and was seen in the hands of everyone from college students to movie stars. This wave of popularity lasted into the mid 1930's. The second wave of popularity started in the late 1940's after WW2 ended, and lasted into the 1950's. Some soldiers were even supplied with ukes by the military during the war and wanted to continue playing as civilians.

Ring size - You can find information about measuring your finger at home in our Sizing Chart, we strongly advise you should find a local jeweler who can figure out your exact ring size, however, if you are using our Sizing Chart to measure your finger or if you are uncertain about your ring size, it would be better to take a smaller size since stretching a ring is easier then making it smaller.

Sizing for knitted supports is determined by loosely measuring the circumference at specific points on the body, depending on the product. If you are between 2 sizes, go with the larger size. The product fits correctly if it feels comfortable, doesn't bunch, pinch or constrict, or doesn't slip and seem baggy. It should fit like a second skin.

Not really. There are many differences, but the biggest is probably the way it's tuned. The ukulele uses a type of tuning called "reentrant" tuning. In reentrant tuning, instead of the strings being tuned across the neck from high to low, one of the strings jumps up in pitch while its neighbors drop progressively. Reentrant tuning is found on other stringed instruments including the lute, Venezuelan cuatro and 5-string banjo.

In general, older instruments have increased in value, especially in the last few years as more uke enthusiasts come into the fold. We've seen values go up tenfold for certain ukuleles. Instruments in excellent, original condition with no cracks or damage have the most value to collectors. Some of the most sought after instruments include the older Hawaiian ukes. The top mainland brands are equally in demand.

If you are larger or smaller than the average for your age, you might want to use the next size up or down for your age.

When measuring the Cuddle Ewe Underquilt, the fabric should be pulled tight and measured from seam-to-seam.
