In general, students should apply to a variety of schools rather than only one or two favorites, especially if there is any doubt over whether they will be admitted to the programs they hope to enter. A typical strategy would be to apply to 4-6 top choices and another 4-6 second choices, making sure that the schools vary in selectivity of admissions.

There is no set number, and the number of schools that a student applies to may vary widely from discipline to discipline. As a general rule, you should focus on those schools to which you have a reasonably good chance of being accepted (based on a combination of your academic qualifications, test scores, and the particular program's profile of successful candidates). To apply to graduate, you must complete and submit an 'Application for Graduation' form to the Graduations Unit by the closing date. It is your choice whether you apply to attend a ceremony or not attend a ceremony (called graduating in absentia). Either way, you must complete and submit an application form. University of Perpetual Help, De La Salle Zobel, Woodrose and Southridge Schools, St.Benedict College are also within the vicinity.

All Higher and Technical-vocational educational institutions will be offering at least one (1) of the NSTP components while State Universities and Colleges will offer the ROTC component and a least one other NSTP component. A student who is later admitted to a graduate program at the University of Washington may apply a maximum of 12 applicable GNM credits (or any combination of GNM and up to six approved transfer credits totaling 12 credits) towards a master's degree. Transfer credits are not applicable towards a doctoral degree. Six- and ten-year limits for master's and doctoral degrees commence at the point of enrollment in the first GNM course which is later applied for credit toward degree requirements.
