All the source is written using Dreamweaver in Windows. All the images were made using Paint in Windows. All the file conversions (bmp to jpg) are done with IrfanView.

We use Macromedia Dreamweaver MX for the HTML. It is a very capable and powerful web editing program. For the graphics, we use Adobe LiveMotion for the Flash graphics and Adobe Photoshop for the pictures.

We recommend that you use the following programs. Quark Xpress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw. Each program has its own strength and weakness. We recommend that you view and setup your pictures files in Adobe Photoshop (make sure you have calibrated your monitor) and your type in Quark/Illustrator/Corel Draw. We also accept Illustrator and Corel Draw files, however they are not the best for displaying accurate colors.

I get asked this quite a bit. For skinning itself, I use two programs. First, I use plain ol' MS Paint, believe it or not. When I'm happy with the basic look of the skin, I use Adobe Photoshop to add muscle tone, 3D effects on items such as big belts or pouches, and other details until I'm happy with how the skin looks. It's very important to have a paint program that can handle layers and transparency to achieve the proper look.

lt;blush> Well, some people call me a "mesh maker extraordinaire." </blush> I like it because it can be so challenging. To create meshes or edit existing meshes, I use a program called MilkShape 3D. Actually, MilkShape is only one of three programs I use. As of this writing (4-10-01) MilkShape has a plugin in development to export meshes into a format that the game can use. Until then, however, I use Aladrin Kehlahn's SKN2OBJ, and Scott McDonnell's CMX Editor.

The coding of this site was done by Hmers, the administrator of ChristinaMultimedia. Contest Emporium was designed starting from scratch, and all back-end automation features of it are based on proprietary code. To build such a site, you will need to have knowledge of PHP, understand basic database development techniques, and be able to develop various data manipulation algorithms.

Adobe ImageReady, sometimes version 3.0 and sometimes CS. I use it mainly because it has layers and transparency, the ability to save good-quality web images, and it can animate if that's what I want to do, all in one program.

My website contains many works from me, both new and old. Many of my older works were created with Adobe Photoshop LE. Photoshop LE was a program I got free with my first graphics tablet, and is basically a low-end version of Photoshop. Then, in 2001, I got Painter Classic. Painter Classic is another program I got free with my Wacom tablet, and was a low-end version of Painter. Then, in 2003, I was able to get the full version of Painter 7.

I use vim to do all of the editing. I use PHP for the dynamic parts (coded by hand in vim). For graphics I use The GIMP. All of the tools are free, Open Source Software.

I (Matthias) didn't really use anything but freeware. I used Photofiltre (Email me if you want to find the link), MS Paint, Movie Maker for the MVs, skinnertoo for the WinAMP skins, a scanner, notepad, and support from staff and friends.

Our office offers copies of the program that we use to make tide predictions for the NOS Tidal Reference Stations. Our office is not in the business of software development and distribution. The program we use was developed for our use and is not user-friendly. The program is written in FORTRAN and requires the use of a separate control file for each location that predictions are being made for.

I use Paint Shop Pro. I edit the images, make layers, put effects on the images and whatever I'd like to add to the montages. I also use this program to edit my screen caps. I've been using Paint Shop Pro for a few years and have fell in love with it.

Currently Adobe Photoshop CS, which I also use to make a few of my layouts even this current layout. Before I had cs, it was Adobe Photoshop 7.0 and before that it was Arcsoft Photostudio 2000.
