The main difference between the two degrees has to do with the level of specialization attained in your field. The Master of Business and Information Technology (MBA) is a 2-year degree with a 50-50 mix of coursework in management and information technology areas. The MBA (IT) is the 2 year MBA with IT as your 'major'; in this program you would normally do 3 or 4 courses as IT electives.

The degree in organizational management prepares students to be better managers or to advance to a management position. It qualifies students to be a general manager in a variety of settings such as manufacturing (plant manager, line supervisor, etc.), banking, public service organizations and health care, to name a few.

This really depends on your ultimate career goal. If you want to become a university professor, qualified to teach undergraduates and graduate students, and do research and publish in your field of expertise, you must obtain the doctorate (Ph.D.).
