According to Article 10 of the FIE rules of competition, "the attack is the initial offensive action made by extending the arm and continuously threatening the valid target of the opponent." A threatening weapon is normally interpreted to be one that will or could hit the opponent if no defensive action is taken. In other words, a weapon threatens if it is moving towards the target in a smooth, unbroken trajectory.

If you observe a number of cases with a common association, such as a single classroom or activity, or numbers that cause you concern, seek the advice of the local health department.

The Event Organizer will unfold the basic story line of the scenario by issuing pre-planned Missions periodically from Central Command to each side’s Command Post (CP). Black bear sightings on the Daniel Boone National Forest and throughout eastern Kentucky are increasing. The bears are expanding their range into Kentucky from the neighboring states of Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia. Black bears are typically shy and prefer to avoid conflicts with dogs and humans. As with any wild animal, however, take precautions and never approach a black bear. When camping, store food and garbage away from your campsite in areas that are not accessible to bears.
