If you do not already have your own equipment to Colocate, or simply wish to manage your costs - you can use one of TurnKey Internet's Dedicated Server Packages. Dedicated Servers are physical computers that are setup and maintained by TurnKey Internet in one of the TurnKey Data-Centers. You have your own physical computer, dedicated to your business - your own private hard drive, cpu, memory, and direct bandwidth connection to the Internet via the TurnKey next-generation fiber-optic network.

A dedicated file and print server is a server built on Windows Server 2003 as a fixed function device. All of the functionality unrelated to file serving has been removed, increasing reliability and lowering the overhead on the machine CPU. Windows Storage Server 2003 R2 is a solution for consolidating your file serving functions on one device, replacing your general purpose servers that are dedicated to file serving.

A dedicated server commits all of its resources and bandwidth to one website. This is an option for a very large, resource-intensive website. For smaller companies and personal websites a virtual hosting server is recommended. For large volumes of traffic and high processing, a large company may wish to consider a Dedicated Server Package.

Dedicated servers will be setup and released within 5 business days of the date your order was placed. In most cases the servers will be released sooner depending on availability.

We aim to get all dedicated servers setup and live within 4 hours during working hours. If there are any expected delays you will be notified of these in advance.

The advantages of a dedicated server include performance, security and increased control. There are cost savings for server maintenance. You cut costs on the Internet connection, router, security, redundancy and network administration. You can host as many sites as the web-server can handle because you do not have to share a server. You can install third party background software that is restricted on shared servers.

We provide each VPS with its own harddisk. This is much better than the competition where a few VPS will share a single harddisk. Sharing the same physical harddisk means any VPS can eat up all the disks IOs for the single shared harddisk, and deprive your VPS of resources. In future, it may be possible for VPS software to dedicate disk IOs. However, at Xssist, we solve this problem today, by giving each premium VPS its own harddisk. You do not share that harddisk with anyone.

All of our dedicated servers come with the following server types (at a minimum): http, ftp, pop, smtp, telnet, dns, imap and most also come with php, mysql and more.

This message will be displayed if EarthNow! is unable to connect to the server at USGS EROS. This could be caused by a network error between your personal computer and the server at EROS or if too many users are connected to EarthNow! simultaneously.
