You are allowed to repeat a course in which you obtained a passing grade. However, the grades from both enrollments in the course will appear on the transcript; both will be used in calculating the total QPA; and both will be used in determining your class rank. The units, however, are counted only once. Therefore, if a course is taken more than once, the additional enrollments cannot be used to satisfy another curricular requirement, such as a free elective.

Yes, you can retake a class. However, you MUST be on probation, your grade in the course you wish to retake must be a C or lower, and it MUST be approved by your committee before you retake it. The retake grade will always be used in computing the grade point average regardless of whether it is higher or lower than the original grade. A student may retake a course with subsequent removal of the prior grade only once for each course and for a total of two courses in a degree program.

If you fail a class the GI Bill will pay for you to retake it. You can only use your benefits to improve a grade if the grade you received is not acceptable under your program. Students can retake a class once without petition, but to take the class again the student must petition the Psychology faculty. It is rare that the Psychology Department supports a student's petition to retake a class for a second time, and this occurs only in exceptional circumstances.
