This is a mechanical portable mast that can be raised by a motor or manually with a hand-crank. There are no seals to wear out and leak air (thereby contracting the mast) and an air compressor to raise the mast is not required. Individual tubes do not need to be locked with each extending section as with pneumatic masts. The LUKSA telescoping mast is not as sensitive to cold and hot weather as the pneumatic mast. It is totally portable and lighter than the pneumatic mast.

The mast is made of four sections of fiberglass,or five for a 4m sail, and three for a 2m sail. This enables the mast to flex and absorb strong gusts of wind, preventing the blokart from easily flipping. If you do flip, the mast will, in most cases, absorb the impact rather than crack. Both are very good. Both have advantadges and disadvantadges. A spring gun requires more discipline from the shooter to fire accurately on a repeatative basis. However, some can be nearly as accurate as a PCP gun. The advantage of spring guns is that they are a lot less expensive than most PCP guns, you don't have to worry about running out of air or lubing your pellets. The difference is in the following in no particular order of importance: redundancy, provider, wireless equipment, policy, tech support, network management and reporting.
