Why is my PC3200 RAM running at 333MHz/PC2700 speed?
Dell PowerEdge 400SC - WikiFAQ - Answers to Frequently Asked...For maximum compatability, Dell's BIOS reads the module's SPD information and sets the timings accordingly. If you have "fake" PC3200, which is in reality overclocked PC2700, the SPD data tells the BIOS it's PC2700. On a motherboard with manual RAM settings, you can set this yourself. Alas, the 400SC's BIOS doesn't allow this. The 400SC's BIOS seems to allow maximum memory timings of 2.5, 3, 3, 6.
What is the Mhz Speed of PC2700, PC3200, PC3500, PC4000, or other types of DDR DRAM?
Hardware Knowledgebase - Top Rated FAQsAns: The numeral portion of DDR memory represents the "MB/s" of the RAM, so PC2700 is rated at 2.7GB/s (2700MB/s) and so forth.
Will more RAM speed up my Internet browsing?
SpecTek Select - WelcomePossibly. Internet browsing speed depends on a huge number of factors, including your connection speed, traffic on the sites you're visiting, and other components in your system. You will probably notice the biggest improvement if you work with large files (such as photos and digital audio and video) or if you switch between your browser and other applications often.
How do I test my RAM to see at what speed it's operating?
Dell PowerEdge 400SC - WikiFAQ - Answers to Frequently Asked...Use any one of the following tools to see the RAM speed and a myriad of other information about your system:
Can I speed things up by running more than one copy of DESCHALL?
DESCHALL Project Frequently Asked QuestionsYou should have exactly one process per processor running to make optimal use of your machine. The MacOS client has built-in MP capability, so don't run more than one copy, even on MP systems. For the other clients, you'll need to run one process per processor. While Unix clients can do this more automatically, by specifying the number of processors on the command line, the Windows clients need to have the proper number of clients started by hand.
My computer is running very slow. What can I do to speed it up?
Information Resources at the University of Kansas Medical Ce...There are many factors that affect PC performance including both software and hardware. First, check out the minimum requirements found at http://www2.kumc.edu/ir/operationalprotocols/pc_standards.asp. Please realize these are the minimum requirements and any hardware additions especially adding memory will help boost performance significantly. Eliminating unused programs from your computer and unnecessary icons off the desktop will also increase PC performance.
What recording speed does DVD-RAM media support?
KODAK:FAQ:KODAK DVD-RAM MediaThe transfer rate for DVD-RAM media is determined by the media specification. The transfer rate for a 2.6 GB disc (side) is 695 KB/sec.
The workstation is running slow even if my computer has a lot of RAM memory. How can I fix this ?
To use our Complete workstation, you will need a configuration with at least 256Mb of memory (512Mb are recommended). For the Simplified workstation, 128Mb are required.
CWHR is running slow. How can I speed it up?
California Wildlife Habitat Relationships System FAQFirst, make certain you have the minimum system requirements to run CWHR. These include Windows 98, NT, 2000 or XP; 32 mb of RAM; and, 700 mb of disk space for the full install. Second, be sure you aren't trying to run a query with too many parameters (eg. selecting all counties or all habitats). This tends to bog down the free memory in your system and freeze it up. If you want a query that includes every county, select nothing in the Location Selection window.
What affects the running speed (fps) of the camera?
KODAK:FAQ:KODAK DVC325 Digital Video CameraThe view and the quality determine the running speed (fps) of the camera.Performance can also be affected by the following factors: The frame size. (A movie may record faster at a smaller frame size than a larger frame size. For example, a movie recorded at 160 x 120 will record faster than a movie recorded at 320 x 240.) Speed of the CPU. (The camera uses approximately 10 percent of the CPU bandwidth from a PENTIUM P 166 Processor.)
How much RAM?
Linux/m68k for Macintosh - The Linux/m68k for Macintosh FAQThe Linux/m68k port requires about the same amount of RAM as the other Linux ports: about 4 megs at the minimum. Even if Linux supports less, the recent versions of the Penguin booter do not. 4 MB is no longer enough to load a 2.2 kernel and a ramdisk. Even 5 MB is stretching it. System 7.0.1 uses less memory than the other Mac systems; if you have a low memory machine, you might try running it. If you intend to run Debian 3.0, you are looking at a more usable minimum of 32 MB.
What is the difference between PC2100, PC2700, and PC3200?
SpecTek Select - WelcomePC2100 DDR is designed for use in systems and motherboards which require a 133MHz front-side bus. While the system or motherboard may operate a 133MHz front-side bus, its effective front-side bus speed is 266MHz in DDR operation. To get the effective front-side bus speed of a DDR system, double the operating frequency. PC2700 DDR is designed for use in systems and motherboards which require a 166MHz front-side bus, with an effective front-side bus speed of 333MHz.
How to map bits onto a RAM variable?
HI-TECH Software Frequently Asked QuestionsI want to be able to access single bits in a byte, but if I try to define a bit variable using the absolute variable construct, e.g. static bit bitvar @ ((unsigned)&bytevar)*8+0; I get a compiler error. How can I do this? A: The short answer is "you can't do this". The absolute variable construct using @ requires an address known at compile time. The long (and more useful) answer will depend on what you're actually trying to do.
My clock is running slow (or fast). How can I adjust the speed?
Alarm Clocks OnLineThis is a very common question. It is so common, that clock manufacturers have tried many methods to make adjusting their clocks self-explanatory. Typically, on the back of an alarm clock, you will see a crescent shaped opening. Just inside the opening there is a lever that can be moved to different positions within the opening. In one direction, moving the lever will shorten the effective length of the hairspring and speed the clock up. The other direction will slow the clock.
My ADSL is running slower than the rated speed. What could be wrong?
DACOR Computer Systems - Frequently Asked QuestionsIf you have not used our speed testing form go to our help page and run the speedtest. This does not go out over the internet but rather goes directly from our Web server to the DSL router so there is no delay caused by 10-20 hops across the internet. Since DSL is new many systems are not "tuned up for it's speed" for more information on this visit www.dslreports.com. ADSL like any other internet connection option is shared by many users.
