To delete the mail on our server, simply uncheck the "leave mail on server" option, and check your mail again. It will check for new messages it hasn't downloaded yet, and then delete the entire mail file off of our server.

Some mail (SMTP) servers do not reject addresses of unknown users for a variety of reasons, including: They're simply accepting mail to pass on to another server and thus have no idea what users are valid on the destination server. (This is often the case for secondary servers for a domain.) The server has been configured to forward all unknown user email to an administrator. Hexillion's mail server is set up this way.

Well it's bad for two reasons. One, it isn't good to have metal stuck in your paint for obvious reasons, and less obvious is that over time it can actually compromise the paints integrity. Secondly, it looks and feels bad. No one wants rough paint.

Email sent to your address is stored on a mail server until you retrieve it using email software (Outlook Express, Netscape Messenger, Eudora, etc.) or delete it using NetDexia WebMail.

Your email client software (e.g., Outlook Express) may have an option to "leave mail on server". If this option is selected inadvertently or otherwise, your mailbox (on the server) may fill up and cause you not to be able to receive email, even if you've already read your email.

When you fail to deliver an email via our smtp/outgoing server, you will get a return mail from the mail server. You can find the description inside that email about the failure of the delivery. Check your email account settings to make sure you have the correct email server name. The server name for both incoming and outgoing email should be shawmail. Some users — especially users with home network routers — may be unable to connect using "shawmail" as the server name. If you’re experiencing this problem, try using the full server name for your region, which is listed on the Server Names page.

Spammers are the ones who most use other servers to send mail, but Open Relay Mail Servers can also be used to spread computer viruses. Spammers do not own the servers they send most of their mail through, nor do they contribute any money or labor to the upkeep of the servers. This amounts to theft and is sometimes called "high-jacking" the server.

The security problem extends, unfortunately, to the e-mail protocol itself. Mail administrators are required to return, as undeliverable, any messages addressed to an invalid address on a particular network (such as SBCIS). This opens up the possibility for abuse by spammers running software that attempts to send messages to as many different addresses as possible. (See above.)

All these terms are used by various email clients to describe the username for an email-id. Every email-id has a username attached to it, which is supplied along with a password to the mail server while retrieving emails. This is same as your pop-id.

Open WinGate and under the System Tab double click on the Email Option. Under the Delivery Tab, select from the How to deliver pull down menu ''Use Gateway'' and enter in the 3rd party mail server you wish the mail to be sent to. You can also select ''Use Gateway for Undeliverable Mail'' and all mail that can not be sent directly would use the 3rd party mail server to send the mail.

Neither. Points are just one more option to consider when getting a loan. Most people choose not to pay any points, but that in itself doesn't make points bad. Your email will queue up on our server cluster until your mail server comes back online. No email will be lost or returned.

Your email address will be your_username@cs.rutgers.edu. Please make sure you notify your correspondence about the change of address if you were not using this address previously. Your username will be the same as your current unix username.
