You'll be able to download anything you can imagine. We have all the popular music and movies but also hard to find titles. There are millions of files available on the network and it's expanding everyday.

One of the things that causes some delay in getting your music or movie listed with Lightning is the time necessary to produce high quality scans of artwork for any print collateral provided with your CD or DVD. Though we are eager to put your music or movie online, we pride ourselves on giving the customer the full quality artwork as well as full quality music and movies - and so we take great care with the art we make available.

Finding a channel that has files you want will probably be difficult, and doing a channel search using the word you want may get results and it may not. We buy all formats and genres of music at the Minneapolis and St. Paul store locations. We buy CD’s and DVD’s at the Fridley and Moorhead locations. All stores buy DVD movies, however, only the Minneapolis location buys VHS movies. We need the original cases and artwork. Note: We make an offer on everything, except STOLEN movies and music, and we make every effort to catch thieves!

Please try to avoid our busiest times of the day, especially Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Additionally, within an hour of our closing time is not recommended.

Our selection varies by store location, however few stores in the country have a broader selection than our Minneapolis store. Our 3 St. Paul locations boast an excellent selection, while our Fridley and Moorhead selections are smaller – Our smallest store still carries more than 30,000 CD’s.

Our online downloadable collection of material does have several movie and music items, but the selection is limited at this time. It promises to grow, however, and we encourage you to check regularly.

Do NOT expect it to be like using a PSP or other dedicated device for playing movies. The conversion process is clunky, slow and the results are less than desirable. If you are really interesting in watching movies on the go, consider a GP2x - it has the best of everything when it comes to portable emulation and media on the go. Use your DS for playing games. :)

Yes. All our customers get real official Music License Certificate documents, which is also an official tax invoice. This is available to download from the same page where you download the music or sound-fx your purchased. Since we went online 8 years ago, we have processed over 100,000 orders, and never once has the download information not been sent out to the email address that the customer input on the order form.

Yes, but limitations to the number of times you can burn to disc or transfer the tracks to a portable device is restricted to comply with copyright. Please refer to individual tracks for details.

From time to time, we do sell on our previously-viewed stock. We do not offer the ability for our subscribers to directly purchase these discs at this time.

That's correct. I don't own any movies on my computer. I prefer reading novels in print and all of the RPG books I own in electronic form are either books I wrote, books friends wrote and gave to me, archives given to me as resources for various writing projects, or books I purchased from RPGnow or similar sources. All of my MP3s are either from CDs I own or owned ("owned" in the sense that I used to have them but they have since been stolen) or downloaded legally. I don't think so.
