The theme music, This Wheel's On Fire, was written by Bob Dylan and is sung by Julie Tippett and Adrian Edmondson.

The interior shots of the series were filmed on stage 9 at the 20th Century Fox Studios in Hollywood (the same soundstage was used for AfterMASH, LA Law, and now NYPD Blue). The external scenes were filmed at the Fox Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains located in Calabasas, California, about 6 miles inland from Malibu Beach on Malibu Canyon Road. This has since been renamed to Malibu Creek State Park. A map is available on the Malibu Creek website.

Andrew Huggett of Canada wrote all the music. The music is universal, written by a composer skilled at creating cross-over music that can travel around the world. The instruments used are varied and include a few kazoos.

The theme song was written by Irving Szathmary, who was the brother of Bill Dana. Dana was Don Adams' close friend and writing partner. The music to the theme is available in a book of TV Themes. In two years of watching Get Smart on eBay, I saw the original sheet music from 1965 on sale once and it sold for around $60. That's the only time I've seen it for sale. The actual song is available on a CD called Television's Greatest Hits, Volume 1. That's available online at Amazon.com.

Since Columbia House lost the rights no other company seems to offer the series on video. If you are an existing subscriber to Columbia House you will continue to receive tapes. check site for full list. The final episode is also available but may be harder to find. CBS/Fox Video released this around 1986, but it was set at a price for rental stores to buy for their rental stock, not at a price for purchase by general consumers. I'm told that the tape can be obtained at Blockbuster Video stores.

It doesn't have an official name aside from "Now and Again Theme." No to any question along these lines. I only knew ep titles ahead of time because of TV Guide Online and people on the N&A mailing lists who managed to snag CBS press releases. I have no connection whatsoever with the show aside from being addicted to it.

Almost all of the classical composers wrote chamber music and played it. Indeed, many of them reserved their finest efforts for their chamber music. Some examples are Beethoven's string quartets, piano trios by Brahms and Schubert, and Mozart's inspired quintet for piano and woodwinds. The signature tune is 'Handbags and Gladrags' composed by Mike D'Abo of Manfred Mann and famously recorded by Rod Stewart. Stereophonics released a cover version of the song in December 2001. The Office version was arranged and performed by Big George. Unfortunately this version is not available to buy. We don't know, sorry. These things must have come from somewhere... though if you desperately want one it could be that you missed the entire point of the show.

Ray Llewellyn, who also wrote the theme music for Sea Hunt and Science Fiction Theater. According to Classic Themes, Ray Llewellyn is a pseudonym for David Rose, when he worked at non-union rates. Yes since The Ring & The Ring Two soundtrack was released, the track "The Well" has become very popular, as it is a simple piano arrangement of the creepy music used constantly in these great films. However sheet music is not available for the Ring soundtrack. Most people (myself included) just learn it by ear, as I said is a simple piano arrangement. But no threat if you can't do that - it took me a while.
