You cannot FAX using a DSL modem but you can still send and receive faxes over your regular telephone lines though. Upgrading to DSL will add a DSL modem, but if you keep your old modem, you can still use software fax products like WinFaxPro -- they simply use your telephone line as before. If your fax software uses an analog modem that's already installed in your computer (and most fax software does), just keep using it the way you have been, with the modem connected to your phone jack. Impact ColorFax is a PC based fax software application and can receive faxes if the fax modem is connected to the PC and the telephone line is directly connected to the modem.
