Acceptance into a graduate program cannot be deferred. Acceptance is valid only for the academic session. An applicant who does not register in this session must reapply for admission. However, the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research will hold application materials for a period of one year. When you re-apply, you may use the documents previously submitted, but it is wise to provide any new material which may be relevent.

No, there is no provision to defer a postgraduate programme place. You must re-apply again (e.g., the following year), in competition with applicants in that round (i.e., there is no guarantee you will be offered a place in that particular cycle). However, if you choose to re-apply, then please mention in your "re-application" that you were accepted for a place previously.

If Admission Services grants a deferral of your admission to the program of study that you have accepted (e.g. Commerce), then your scholarship will also be deferred.
