Laptops can be registered as roving machines. When you are in your office you will be assigned a fixed IP address by DHCP, then when you move around campus you will be assigned a private IP address automatically. Private addresses will only work within the campus network, so if you want to access the rest of the internet you will need to use a proxy server.

Two or more computers can connect to each other using NetBlaster II technology by peer to peer (Ad Hoc mode), or via the wireless Hub (Infrastructure mode). There are several methods available to connect to the internet. For stationary vehicles, a USB or PCMCIA WiFi connection can be used. Yes, you are required to bring your own laptops as we will not be providing laptops. You may not use your personal computer for the presentations on Saturday. GBCC laptops will be provided on Saturday for each presentation room. You will bring your presentation on a thumb drive.
