Yes,unless the puppy has a known fault and should not be bred, in which I would make sure you were aware at the time of purchase, the reg. would be limited and you could not reg.puppies. If there are no apparent faults, then I leave the responsibility up to the new owner. However, I strongly advise you to spay/neuter your pet. There are many responsibilities and  a lot of time involved  to properly care for your dog and her puppies.

We have applied for AKC recognition and are waiting for a response at the present time. of January 1996, the Cavaliers have full recognition by the AKC. This has resulted in two national breed clubs, the original CKCSC-USA and the AKC-recognized ACKCSC. Answer: If your dog was recorded in our Foundation Stock Service with a complete 3 generation pedigree (must include 3 generations of names and numbers), then your dog will be eligible for AKC recognition should the breed become recognized. Just because a dog is AKC registered doesn't mean it should be bred. A registered dog simply means that it's parents are also registered with the same registry. This confers no merit in itself, it simply means that the dog's lineage is known. Most registries do not make any assertions of quality in the dogs they register. In 1996, the AKC board of directors announced plans to remove all health and genetic information from the official AKC registration and to include it along with PennHIP information in the newly conceived "Information and Health Database". There is a lag time of approximately one month between the time the OFA issues breed numbers and the time this information is imported into the AKC registry. It should be noted that the AKC requires dogs to be permanently identified in the form of tattoo or microchip in order to include their OFA results in the AKC database. We sell our puppies with a nonrestrictive AKC (American Kennel Club) registration. What this means is that we do not require a contract saying you will not breed your dog or that you have to have it spayed or neutered. We do not charge show quality prices nor guarantee that you are buying a show dog. That's not to say that some of our puppies will not qualify to be show dogs! No dog should be bred without the owner having invested a great deal of time learning about the breed. Maybe! These are delightful dogs, good with families, and very adaptable. On the other hand they require a good deal of effort and commitment from the owner, perhaps more than most breeds. Between the need for exercise, socialization, and grooming; a commitment for many hours of attention a week may be needed for the next 15 years. Show quality dogs must be as flawless as possible. The AKC maintains information about its standards online at http://www.akc.org. We breed for pets only. We also do not line breed or inbreed, which you will find a lot in a show dog's pedigree. Some say that a show dog will have a longer nose and longer legs. No. At this time the Dogo Canario (Presa Canario) is not given any recognition by the American Kennel Club. Some dogs in the US are registered with the Foundation Stock Service of the AKC. The official standard for each breed is a written description of the correct characteristics for that breed. The standards originate with the national parent clubs for the respective breeds.
