After the relief valve opens it will not shut off until line pressure is reduced. Is it faulty?
Frequently Asked Questions - Fisher RegulatorsWhen using relief valves, be sure to remember that the reseat point is lower than the start-to-bubble point. To avoid seepage, keep the relief valve set point far enough above the regulator set point. Cutting the supply pressure to a pilot-operated regulator reduces the regulator gain or sensitivity and, thus, may improve regulator stability. (This can only be used with two-path control.) How does this bypass valve work?
Conrad's RSX tuning Page: Tuning from existing Hondaata cali...It is a butterfly valve like the one in the throttle body (see picture). The default is closed. When vacuum is high (idle-cruising) an actuator opens the bypass valve so that intake air bypasses the compressor. When accelerating, vacuum decreases and the bypass valve instantly closes. Intake air now goes through the compressor, building boost. More power means more fuel means larger injectors. However, in order to pass CARB, the base kit had to use the stock injectors. How do I model a relief valve in a system?
AFT Applied Flow Technology : Products : FathomYou can model a relief valve using either a Relief Valve junction or a regular Valve junction. The Relief Valve junction is always closed when you run the model (unless you set it's Special Condition), and AFT Fathom will run the Solver to determine if sufficient pressure exists to crack it. If so, it will run the Solver again with the relief valve open. If you know the condition you are modeling will crack the relief valve, it is more efficient to just use a regular valve junction.
