Can I apply a wood veneer to materials other than wood?

Oakwood Veneer FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions
Wood veneer can be applied over wood, metal, fiberglass, plastic and many other substrates. Different substrates will require the use of different glues and, in some cases, veneers with different types of backers. See Question 18 (below) for information about backing materials.

Which furniture is better, solid wood or veneer?

New Page 1
The answer is that both are good. Neither solid wood nor veneer is, by itself, a measure of better quality furniture. If comparable craftsmanship is used, the quality of a solid wood or veneered piece of furniture should be the same. What is the best way to dust my furniture? Twice a month dusting of all your furniture is recommended to keep dust from accumulating. Use a soft, lint-free cotton cloth such as an old t-shirt or baby diaper. Very lightly dampen (NEVER wet) the cloth with water. See similar questions...

Can I get Tempus Drums with a wood veneer on the outside?

Frequently Asked Questions
It can be done but, really, what would be the point? Such a process would detract from the basic function and effectiveness of a seamless, dense and very thin shell. The finishes that I offer are those which my customers ask me to create. Since all Tempus drums are made to order - literally custom built - and since every customer has a personal preference in so many detailed areas, it's lucky that I'm in a position to be so flexible when it comes to custom finishes. They are ideal for masking discolored fillings in front teeth. Patients with gaps between their front teeth or teeth that are chipped or worn may consider veneers. See similar questions...
