Not all cats will accept another. Eventually most will adjust to each other even if they are not the best of friends. Be sure to give the original pet a lot of attention. Sometimes it is less threatening to get a cat of the opposite sex. Generally when getting a new pet, two females will get along fine. Two males will not always get along. If you have a devoted and stubborn dry food addict on your hands, the first thing to do is to stop free-feeding kibble. This is absolutely essential. First, you must get your cat off of dry food. If your goal is to eventually feed raw food, then once your cat is on canned food, you can start slipping in small amounts of the raw food into the canned and then slowly increasing the amount of raw and decreasing the canned. Yes. My four food groups are decaffeinated coffee, hard candy, oyster crackers, and broth. Those are generally the only things I can tolerate, though still in small quantities. I can't guarantee it but most pets eat well here (from the excitement/activity with the other "playmates" . I will entice a dog to eat with making a gravy out of a tablespoon or teaspoon of Solid Gold canned food or sometimes ground lamb. Nine out of ten dogs will eat all the food.
