Answer: It depends on the kind of pacemaker. If they have a pacemaker with the defibrillator included, then no, they should not use it. There is really no problem with signal interference, but sometimes a patient will get nervous or excited and the adrenalin release can cause the heart to change rhythms and trigger the defibrillator.
