Previous to '99 all 2.5L were DOHC and the crankshaft thrust bearing was on the #3 main bearing. This caused a see-sawing at high rpm due to the 2.5's longer stroke (everything was seemingly fine on 2.0 and 2.2 motors using this design). In addition, the 97-98 DOHC 2.5L used a piston with no skirt, which looked a bit like a pancake.

Generally speaking, DOHC engines have higher displacement and dual cams (one for exhaust timing and one for intake) which can be tuned independently for a higher range of performance. They are also usually more "stout" engines than single cam engines. It is however also possible to tune single cam engines as well. They have been around for some time and the same number of modifications exist for single and dual cam engines.

While the exhaust ports are the same size on all of the heads in question (1g and 2g DOHC and 4G64 SOHC), the intake ports vary wildly between them. The largest intake ports are found on the 1G DOHC head, followed by the 2G DOHC head, and finally our 4G64 SOHC head. For comparison, the 2G DOHC head intake port is 27mm x 55mm in size, while our 4G64 SOHC intake port is 27mm x 43.5mm in size. That's about a 20% reduction in size.

NO Same pattern... different spacing... A DOHC engine will not work in a stock SOHC frame... It will bolt up and different spacers made... but the front sprocket will be lined up with the left seat down-tube... may be OK in an aftermarket or custom frame with a single seat down-tube....

There was a spike in activity on July 7th and July 8th, probably from the large number of people looking at the top 10 sites as the contest ended. Your engine is running too "rich". Too much fuel is getting into the carburetor and not enough air. See the engine tuning sheet that came with your engine for instructions how to tune the high-speed needle valve so it is a little extra rich.

With almost all R/C model engines, the direction in which the propeller nut tightens keeps the propeller nut from loosening when the engine is running. The direction of the power pulses tends to tighten the nut. It's very possible that the nut became loose when the engine backfired during starting. Backfiring is a sign of flooding or other deficiency in starting technique or a problem with the engine. The most common reason propeller nuts become loose is that they were not tightened enough.

Typically rankings will fluctuate when switching providers while the search engines are reindexing the pages. Dick York left the show at the end of the 5th season due to chronic back problems. York suffered a seizure while filming #167, Daddy Does His Thing just after the Thanksgiving holidays in 1968. This event was brought on by years of constant pain caused by an injury suffered on a movie set in 1959. Dick Sargent was brought on as a replacement at the beginning of the 6th season.

Three reasons, really. First of all, because it was a new challenge -- which, after five years, we needed. Second, we were at the point where we had so much content every week that it was foolish to roll it out in one big clump; we could roll it out over seven days without feeling like we were stretching the content unnecessarily far. And third, honestly, there's only so far you can go as a weekly zine, and you can never cover things as quickly as you'd like to.

Last year, OCI produced Class Afloat for Newspaper in Education (NIE) programs. Last year we also produced and distributed a newsletter subscription service for teachers who weren't within range of our NIE papers. We learned that, whereas the space constraint of having only a 1/4 page NIE update prevented us from delivering the Student Journals and Q & A, we could publish those in the newsletter. We could deliver more information from Concordia and deliver it faster and more reliably.

The main reason for switching to ELF was to implement dynamic linking. A number of third-party suppliers and customers had requested this feature. Dynamic linking allows programs to delay the mapping of names in program sources ('symbols') to code or variables inside libraries until the program runs. This delayed mapping makes it easy to change shared libraries without affecting the programs that use them.
